“We went today for our first time for the Sunday brunch special and oh. my. goodness. They had everything you could want. Breakfast included quiche, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, kielbasa and eggs. Also pancakes and Belgian waffles. Brunch had homemade mac n cheesecake which was some of the best ive ever had. Turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, prime rib, ham. I mean i was literally in heaven. But the star of the show was definitely the turkey and the mac n cheese. Absolutely amazing. This is our new spot forsure ❤️“

“We had a birthday party here with about 30 people. Kim was so helpful and kind with the planning process. On the actually night, all our guests had delicious meals with fast service. Our waitresses were efficient and friendly the whole time. All the food is amazing. I've never had a bad meal here. This has become one of my favorite places to eat downtown. Go visit them, you won't be sorry! Fantastic food!“

“Eclectic decor in a super cool old building that was the first building in Downtown Toledo to be wired for electricity! Wow we sent our compliments to the chef, everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. They have won awards for their original cocktails and the bartender did not disappoint. Excellent waitress who deserved every penny of her tip. We will be back!“

“I ordered over the phone, day after the German American fest. The guy was busy but he still knew how to talk to the customer. I figured it was probably the boss. I want to thank that whole family, for keeping good food around. That means more to people than they will let you know. Large menu with butterburgers, fried seafood items, sandwiches and a variety of sides including cheese curds, pretzel bites, steamed veggies etc.
Frozen custard has its own menu too - as is, in a mixer, float etc. Had a small 2- toppings - too much for me and very sweet.

Pricing got confusing for me but was explained patiently by an employee - burger and fries have a combined price, prime sides have additional charge, drink has a price. Very friendly staff.
After ordering, got a number for our table and food was brought to us.
We liked the food. Wisconsin burger was not salty, not heavy/greasy. Fish sandwich too. Self-serve fountain drinks - they have their brand rootbeer but tasted similar to other brands.

“Chef Erika Rapp never disappoints and every visit to this wonderful restaurant reaffirms it as my favorite place for our Anniversary dinner. I look forward to the coconut, chorizo and sweet potato steamed muscles that she has had on the fall menu consistently for the last 5 years. And being Gluten Free the care Chef Erika takes to offer many delicious options, means I can always find the perfect meal. Last night the fish dish was perfection, from the perfectly cooked cod, to the savory and slightly sweet delicata squash puree to the textural elements of the crisp broccolini and the crunch of the pomagranate and pepitas. And the dish paired wonderfully with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc. After enjoying a basket of gluten free pop-overs (another favorite treat) and appetizers I was stuffed, but the dish was too delicious to leave even one bite on the plate. Our server Miranda was fabulous. Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and added so much to our dining experience. I highly reccommend.“

“Hands down, my favorite restaurant ever. You just can't go wrong with a Big Boy, with tarter sauce on it, and a side of crispy fries. I have ordered the same thing every time since I was a kid. If I see a Big Boy while out doing things, I make it a point to stop in for a bite. They never disappoint. The service is always fast and friendly, and the prices are right!

“Had the angus cheeseburger today. SO good and cooked to correct temp. I ate the whole thing which I rarely eat my whole burger if is that big. And their Great Lakes kettle sea salt potato chips WITH the skin are a great selection! I just love this place and the staff. Best. Ever.“

“We visited on a Monday in mid-April 2025 for lunch.

This was a typical zoo restaurant. It's a grab and go. There are prepared foods on the side, both hot and cold. There are customizable stuff behind the counter and made to order. Expect it to be overpriced.

The loaded mac and cheese wasn't bad. The young lady behind the counter was making it for us when an older man (who I assume to be a manager) walked by and told her she was putting TOO much toppings in the mac and cheese so she stopped mid scoop with the bacon.

We got chicken tenders and fries which were both fine. We also got the prepared cobb salad. The lettuce on top looked fine but once we opened it and dug deeper, the lettuce were the harder and thicker stalks and more discolored. We still ate it because we were hungry but it did not look super fresh or maybe the salad sat too long in the back before packing it.

We also got the chocolate pudding and the jello. We all agreed the gummy worms in the chocolate pudding had a weird taste and off putting. The texture was also strange and unfortunately a lot of the flavor had leached into the pudding. The jello however was fine and those gummies were normal.

Condiments you grab on your own, self serve.

Cashier was nice and asked if we had membership, which we did and gave us the additional discount. It's nice when they ask because I forget sometimes with all the craziness going on.

The restaurant it self wasn't packed but there were 4 or 5 other groups in there with us. The place also was very clean and new looking. Not sure when this placed opened or renovated but it was very clean and modern. There are no tables to eat inside so we went outside to find a seat. There were no tables in the Kid's play place or neighborhood area so we walked around to where the hippo statues were to eat.

Even though the zoo website says no outside food, we were never searched and I swear almost EVERYONE we saw at the picnic tables had brought food in. Maybe it was locals who knew vs tourist. You can always leave and eat food in your car but it's just so inconvenient.“

“A sweet waitress went way above and beyond her duty, My husband, I and our two friends went in to Waters Edge Restaurant, my husband and our friends ordered, I ask if they had milk shakes because I told her I’m having problems swallowing food down, the food won’t go down. She said so sorry we don’t have milk shakes so I just ordered a root beer to drink while everyone ate (it’s ok though) our sweet waitress whipped up milk with ice whip cream and made me a milk shake with whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top. Brought me a big cup. I said oh wow! I love you thank you!! She said it complementary. “Food is almost always on point! Service is great! Personally I wish it was not so loud. The music is so loud that you aren’t able to hold a conversation with the family/friends you are sitting with. “We came in after an excellent concert last night! We saw the band hairball and they were fantastic and!! And and Kayla was our server. She took our drink orders and almost immediately brought us my coffee and my wife's water, Mitch took our order again. Almost immediately brought us out our order. The service was incredibly fast and here's the kicker the whole time. Even though it was breakfast on a Saturday morning and Kayla was the only server in the building at the time. You would never have guessed that she was on top of it! I don't think we've ever had a a bad experience at a first watch, so not only do I recommend this first watch. Specifically, I recommend anytime you're out of town and if you find a first watch you know you could be safe going there for breakfast, brunch or lunch.“
