“We had a very good meal at the newly re-opened Mama Hong’s. We had been twice before when they were under previous management and both times food and service were had. We were very excited to see they had re-opened.

“The new name of (seemingly) the same restaurant that used to be called Pho B&B, with (I'm excited to say) no less quality. The Shrimp Spring Rolls with peanut dipping sauce are light, tasty, and lovely. The P1 (Pho with Round-eye Steak, my spouse's favorite) is amazing, and the P7 (Pho with Chicken and Quail Eggs) is my go-to, is still beyond reproach for me. The food and service is warm, and friendly. If you're not used to Pho, simply ask, and the staff are glad to help. We've been coming here for nearly five years, and love it.“

They do use exclusively white meat for the chicken, but I would love to see a mixture of light and dark like some of the locations on Classen use.“

(There was fish sauce, sugar, and salt at the table that helped) the price is amazing though and would still come back for it. Very small but cozy dine in and the brown sugar boba was delicious! “Great pho, great bun bo hue. Really nostalgic, especially in a city where decent, authentic Vietnamese food is hard to find. Cash only unless you spend more than $20? Priceless.

The broths are so flavorful on their own. The noodles, especially for take out, are boiled to perfection. The guy helping me at the register gave us complimentary lemonade. If you never had hand squeezes juice from a Mom and Pop shop, it's a great cure for homesickness and hangovers.

Try the Grass Jelly drink on the side (make sure to get the good stuff at the bottom!) the place is small and clean and perfect for a nourishing hot lunch.“

“I got some half roast duck from the supermarket side. You can tell it was busy but you get a lot for the amount you pay for ($15ish). You can watch them cut it in front of you too. It comes with rice as well. Their menu is extensive so there are plenty to choose from. They have good dim sum if you get the chance to go as well!“
