“lived from 1992 to 1999 at NW 14th and May, but I never noticed Sweis Pita Bakery and International Market , or maybe I just never paid attention. It’s a restaurant that has been around for about 50 years, and it’s also a Mediterranean market. It’s located on May Avenue between NW 20th and NW 21st. I started going there in January of this year to buy their gyros, and I can say they are some of the best I’ve ever had. I’ve bought gyros in different states, and none compare to the flavor here. I highly recommend it. It’s super delicious!“

Nothing like settling in to a hard booth with a hot cup of questionable coffee, a pack of Camels, and disapproving stares to enjoy a long evening of banter and tomfoolery with delinquents of all kinds. Like a cozy dive bar for shiftless teens and the random townsfolk who occasionally tolerated them. And when our welcome had long since worn out and our coffee funds had withered - off to the parking lot for further hijinx and the (more than) occasional visit from law enforcement. We got the Green goddess with the best fruit (which really is the best fruit, love the flavors), a cinnamon roll, an apple and caramel croissant and iced pumpkin chai with pumpkin cold foam. Their chai is some of the best I've ever had. Not too sweet and the flavors really stood out.“

“Best banhmi in town. The bread is hot and crunchy outside airy inside, perfect for banhmi. Everywhere else, they used American bread to make banhmi. Quoc Bao Bakery's bread are soft liked American sandwich bread. Lee's Sandwich bread are too heavy inside, not light and airy.“

If you are in a wheelchair, you can have a bad time just getting in the door to the bakery. The restaurant entrance is a little more accessible.“

But wonderful smells wafting into the resale store next door. Stopped and asked an employee if they had a store and he said sorry only distro and bakery.“
