“Makimono in Ajax is hands down one of the best sushi restaurants in the area! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was absolutely top-notch. Vivian and Amy truly went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional—they were so friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home.

The food? Incredible. The sushi rolls are HUGE and packed with flavor, and the menu has such an extensive variety that there’s truly something for everyone. Whether you’re a sushi lover or prefer hot dishes, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

This is also a fantastic spot for hosting parties! The ambiance and spacious seating make it perfect for gatherings with family and friends. On top of that, they’re running a great promotion for Christmas with their gift cards—such a perfect gift idea for sushi lovers!

“Really nice atmosphere, Service was top-notch by the waiters, they were very friendly and polite. The food was excellent, we tried the flame torched sushi, salmon poke and the portion was decent for the quality of the food. We also had some drinks.“

“What a hidden gem. I found this on the way to the spa and holy smokes it was so good. Ordered spicy scallop roll and spicy salmon hand roll and was amazing. Service was fantastic despite it was take out. I will be coming back here on my passing.

“I’ve always ordered from Edo Pickering & they have the best teriyaki sauce. I was so happy to see a location open closer to where I live! I just sent in an order and it was packaged so nicely, and carefully! It also included a free complimentary desert which is was such a nice surprise. I will def be ordering from here a lot more & I recommend to anyone looking for a good chicken/broccoli teriyaki bowl! “Just tried Midami Sushi in downtown Whitby for the first time and all the 5 star google reviews were true. The staff were great and the food was amazing quality with huge portions for the price. We didn’t order sushi but had the Chicken Poke bowl and the chicken teriyaki. salad and miso soup included were also top notch. Highly recommend“

“Always love the food at Makimono and this location is exceptionally good. We don’t usually do the all you can eat. We enjoy ordering 5 or six things off the menu and sharing. Every dish was exceptional, played perfectly and the temp was just right. Did I mention delisious. Probably the best General Tso’s Chicken I have had ever! Staff are super friendly and attentive to service.“

“I have been meaning to try this place for years, due to a friend telling me about it. The food is quality, and you can see the care in the presentation. To eat the fresh onigiri for lunch is very delightful, soft rice pillow of savoury. The popular one is the beef sukiyaki, but I was very delighted by the salmon one. Friday and Saturday get very busy, so advise planning ahead and ordering ahead for take out. Perfect for quiet lunch.“

“Food is delicious but the cashier attitude is terrible. I ordered a bento and asked the veggies to not be deep fried tempura as I know my kids won't eat it and she rolled her eyes at me and said they can't accommodate. Weird considering they steam the veggie before deepfrying. Really left a terrible effect. No smile. No thank you. Just an eye roll.“
