In my 30+ years since my family moved to Toronto, I’ve experienced a lot of Indian and Pakistani food, but nowhere has captured the same sense of home as here. The food is flavorful without being too oily — it is just right.
This place is truly a labour of love — the story of an immigrant who worked his way up from the kitchen to becoming a restaurant owner, with over 30 years of experience in the industry since starting at 16.
He runs the restaurant as a one-man show, personally preparing a menu of 30+ dishes.
He’s not only an excellent chef but also a wonderful storyteller, which adds to the charm and uniqueness of this spot.
The foot traffic was slow unfortunately when I visited, and I am hoping more individuals take the opportunity to visit this place.
I’m rooting for this gem to thrive. Bring your friends and loved ones — you won’t regret it.“

“I’ve been to Food Mantra before and had a decent experience, so I decided to go again — but this time, the food just wasn’t as good. The service was fine, but the Gobi Manchurian had way too much soy sauce and even tasted a bit burnt. The rotis also weren’t as good as I’ve had here in the past. Overall, an okay visit, but definitely not as satisfying as my previous one. Hoping it was just an off day for them.“

“We visited Handi during our 3 day trip in To, and it exceeded our expectations. Food was great, and the service was top-notch. Our group of 5 had several unique requests, and Suman (attendant) was so kind and considerate and she handled everything with a smile. We will definitely be returning on our next visit.“
“We visited Curry and Chutney by Gopal’s for the first time and had an amazing experience. We ordered the South Indian thali, masala dosa, mango shake, gajar halwa, brownie, and ice cream — everything was absolutely top-notch and delicious.
The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the ambience was peaceful and pleasant.

“I've visited this Warraich location a few times now, and today I ordered a non-veg thali. It was ready in about 10 minutes, neatly packed with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro, raita, and gulab jamun. Manisha thoughtfully provided separate spoons for the savory dishes, sweet, and raita, which I really appreciated. The food and service were both excellent. I just wish they had more locations outside the GTA offering the same great quality and affordable prices.“

Mango Rain is a cozy place with delicious food and very personable owners who love their customers and take pride in their food.
This place is perfect if you don’t like hot spicy food but love Indian or Thai flavours; they will make the food according to your spice level.

“We had car accident today near Gwalia Scarborough restaurant. In no time some of the restaurant guys came to us as we were with our baby and helped to get out of the car. Not only this they took good care of me and my baby despite being super busy due to diwali occasion. I dont have words to express my gratitude towards them. This is just more than a restaurant. Thank you for your help today 🙏“

“I had the tandoori paneer frankie and a samosa both were amazing! The paneer frankie was soft, well-spiced, and full of flavor with grilled paneer and fresh veggies. The samosa was crispy and perfectly stuffed with a tasty potato filling. Great taste, quick service, and affordable prices—I’ll definitely go back!“

“Incredible experience eating at Dum Biryani, they make authentic Chennai style biryani - we got the mutton biryani and the mutton biryani with chicken 65 toppings on it. The portion sizes for the food was plentiful, each biryani can serve two people comfortably. We got 2 biryanis for 3 people and frankly, that may have been too much.
This is a takeout-only restaurant and the food is ready whenever you want to pick it up. The biryani itself was hot and seasoned well, the portions of meat in the biryani were generous, and the mutton itself felt like it was melting in my mouth. I'll be returning again for sure.
The owner, Muhammad Harris, also brought out a small cup of chai for me when I came to grab the food. It was a small gesture but it made me feel great and I'll be back now with friends in the future.“

Loved this place! It’s family-owned, and you can really taste the love in the food. The dahi gol gappe were super, the nutri kulcha was so flavorful, and the burger with noodle was a fun surprise. The dal makhani was creamy, and the paneer with naan was perfect — thin, soft, and not heavy at all.
The masala soda was so refreshing, and the coffee hit the spot. Big portions, fair prices, and the nicest people running it. Can’t wait to come back!“
