“We were there late morning on a Tuesday. The waitress Sharon was very friendly. We started with the coffee. It was very good and I don’t normally drink coffee. It was a cold day in December though. Needed something to warm me up. I got their 10yr anniversary skillet. Highly recommend it. It has scrambled eggs, spicy Italian sausage, potatoes, green peppers and mozzarella cheese melted over the top. DELICIOUS! My wife had the #3 which is scrambled eggs, home fries and choice of meat (she chose turkey sausage) with Texas toast. She said it hit the spot. Definitely going back again.“

“We had an amazing visit today on our way through. The cafe was adorable, the baked goods some of the best we have ever had, the owners were super sweet and our daughter absolutely loved the homemade watermelon lemonade. There were also coloring books and everything was super clean and cozy! 10/10 recommend!“

“I came for the matcha on tap and was not disappointed. As a tea drinker there are not many places to find a good matcha. I purchased the iced pistachio matcha and it was amazing. Their summer bun with homemade plum jam was also very tasty. If you are a vegan, there are plenty of options. I will definitely be coming back at least once a week. The staff was very personable.“

“I stopped by for breakfast while visiting Buffalo before a Great Lakes cruise. I was staying at the Hyatt Regency hotel, and their breakfast options were overpriced, and they couldn't even offer an omelette. So, I walked a few blocks over to the Westin Hotel, after reading about Jake's Cafe in the Westin's first floor lobby.

I ordered a ham and cheddar omelette and some breakfast potatoes. The food was so good that I told the chef/server two different times how much I enjoyed it. It was absolutely the breakfast I was hoping it would be.

I'm kind of a fanatic about breakfast potatoes. Usually, when you get them at a restaurant, they are cooked in a frying pan, or on a griddle. Here at Jake's Cafe I'm pretty sure they deep-fried them, like French Fries. This gave the potatoes a fantastic taste, and a wonderful crispiness on the outside, yet soft on the inside. I actually liked them better than about 95% of the breakfast potatoes I've ever had in restaurants. It was really a delightful surprise for a little cafe within a hotel.

The icing on the cake was the good attitude of the server, which is really important at breakfast. Nobody wants to start the day with a grumpy server, and this girl was very pleasant.

With tax, it cost me less than $19... far less than the crappy breakfast at the Sheraton would have cost me. This was a great way to start the day!“

A friendly staff and peaceful, welcoming environment (and you don't have to have a house ticket to enjoy the cafe's drinks and food).“

“Best coffeeshop on Hertel I’ve tried and the employees aren’t snobs when you ask to customize your order. Fresh baked bagels in-house and various cream cheese flavors. They also cater to vegetarians if you need those options. Overall glad I stopped and checked this place out. Will come visit again and highly recommend!!!“

“My best friend and I had the privilege of meeting these two wonderful women in Toronto after a concert. We had no cell service to call a taxi to bring us back to our Air BNB and kept getting wrong directions from everyone. We had stopped them to ask if they knew where to pick up a taxi, and instead of giving us the run around, like everyone else, they gave us a ride to our Air Bnb an hour out of their way with no hesitation. And for that they will always have 2 new customers for life, and anytime anyone we know goes to Buffalo we will recommend they visit their establishment. We couldn’t have been more grateful for them, their character alone tells me what kind of business they run! Please everyone tell a friend to tell a friend about their business. “I had such a wonderful breakfast here. Everything was fresh and packed with flavor, making for the perfect start to my day.

The bagel sandwiches were served warm and wrapped in foil, which kept them in great shape. I also picked up a baked good that had a perfect, toasted texture. It is easy to see why this spot is a favorite in the neighborhood. I will definitely be back soon.“

“Best BLT in Buffalo. I’ve gotten it twice in the span of a couple of weeks. Bacon is cooked perfectly, bread is toasted perfectly - just a great sandwich. The cold pasta salads are always great. I’ve had the caprese and pesto tortellini recently, both fantastic. The prices may be higher than your average sandwich spot but the quality and service is well worth it.“

“My Son & I had a visit there this past Sunday & I drove past this Cafe a million times, & all way's thought it was closed bc the parking is in back! LOL..I have grew up in the area for over 50 years & I will say, This is the Best lil diner I ever ate at. The wait staff from the Dish washers to the waitresses to the cook all made us feel very welcomed & Comfortable. Everyone of them said Hi & good morning to us. Very Friendly. The Food was Sooo Delicious..cooked perfectly. I have never tasted Biscuits & Gravy anywhere like I have here..The Prices are also very good. Roosters will be on my Fav list for Places to eat.“
