Also big thing the turkey avaocodo blt is gone and replaced with chicken avocado blt the chicken is slimy and processed nothing like they turkey. “I think this may be my favorite dinner I've ever visited in Buffalo. We arrived around 2:15 pm, and they close at 3 pm, so clearly they aim more for the breakfast to lunch crowd, because the place was empty except us. They offer little donut bits as appetizers, which was a new one on me. Good stuff, too. Apparently all their food is made on premises, including the donuts. The staff (owners I think?) were super friendly & accommodating. The space is comfortable without being run-down, nice without being stuffy. There's also a covered outdoor area, but it was too muggy out today so we stayed inside where it was cooler. The music was just classic rock, and was very background, to the extent that it doesn't impede a conversation, so basically perfect. Mum got the tuna melt, was very satisfied, and I had the veggie skillet with pepper jack, which was tremendous. When asked what kind of cheese, there were 6 options (cheddar, provolone, and so on), so I said "surprise me" because they all sounded good. She narrowed it down: "white, orange, or weird," so I said, naturally, "weird." Which is how I got the excellent pepper jack (which she picked instead of feta, the other weird option). It was also noted that they're very open to mixing up menu items, and that they try to make the specials relevant to area events, like the Italian sausage being available during the recent Italian festival. Also great, the prices were *so* reasonable: the bill only came to $25 & some change, which means $30 for the two of us, which is a really good price for how good everything was, & the charming atmosphere. The location is a little out of my usual range, but I'll definitely have to make special effort to hit them up again in the future. Love it!“

“We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner for 40 guests at Barrel and Brine and had the BEST experience! We got to work with the owners RJ and Lindsay from day one to craft our ideal menu. They let us dream big and they were just as excited as us to make it come to life! We had a stone fruit salad, eggplant caponata crostini, kimchi mac and cheese, lamb kofta with all the mediterranean fixings, Caribbean chicken and an amazing blueberry mason jar dessert. Don’t get it twisted - there’s way more than pickles here! Our guests loved the variety in the dishes and commented how it was so much better than a typical Buffalo bar food menu. On top of that, our signature drinks were out of this world and this is my formal petition for them to be put on the standing menu at the restaurant!

In addition to the phenomenal food and service, our guests loved the courtyard that B&B is attached to. They got to mingle between the taproom and the outdoor area which was stocked with games and picnic tables. It made for the perfect flow of the evening. Everyone thought it was such a cool location and the perfect place to host an event. Even at the wedding our guests were still raving about the rehearsal! As if this wasn’t enough, the prices were very reasonable and RJ and Lindsay were happy to work within our budget. Can’t rate this experience highly enough, can’t wait to come back soon!“

“I went there for the first time yesterday not sure what to expect of their food but the staff was extremely friendly and explained all details about selections. Everything is made fresh not frozen. The portion sizes are very plentiful for the price and the food was delicious. I got the stuffed peppers, general tso and the Italian caprese with an oatmeal cookie. Everything is very healthy as well. I can't wait to try more options and come back again. Thank goodness for a place like this in our neighborhood!“

“I had a great lunch at Cafe Bar Moriarty's. The chicken salad delicious. It was light and fresh for a lunch. We also got the potato salad as a side which was super delicious. I've never had a potato salad like it and could have probably eaten a gallon. Haha.

“We had biked around a little before settling at Owl Eyes because it was the cosiest spot on the block. We were so hungry we ordered a sandwich each and then couldn't resist getting a third one to share. We both agreed their breakfast sandwich was the best, although the turkey blt and grilled cheese were also delicious. The bread was nice and toasted each time and all three sandwiches were delightfully different. Last but not least their butterbeer latte was tasty and really warmed us up.“

“Wow I had such a chill time here today! Tons of parking , a lot of seating. A mix of families with kids getting breakfast and groups of friends grabbing a bite. The music selection was relaxing too. Got a vanilla latte and a Cruller . Latte was good, really smooth and well made. They use good beans because it wasn’t harsh or burnt tasting at all.The Cruller was expectedly delicious and the texture was so surprising!“

“This is my go-to lunch place for me. I work at Fountain Plaza, so when I forget to pack something for lunch, I usually head here. It’s the cheapest sandwich place in the city, or at least near my specific location. I know other coworkers go to a few other places I will not name, but those other places charge a minimum of two bucks higher or more for the same sandwich.

They always have people in there, which is a great sign. It’s inside the Electric Tower, so there’s a nice lobby to walk through to get to their cafe. The employees are always so sweet, and they make sure to get your order correct - which is awesome, considering how many places don’t really care if your order is right! I really appreciate that - they double check your order before starting it.
It’s a basic cafe, and they serve up the typical sandwiches you’d expect. I’ll be honest, I’ve never ordered anything but sandwiches, so I don’t know what else they offer! The size of the sandwiches is something else I like. They are not enormous, and can't fit your mouth around them, NY deli style sandwiches (which are great, but there’s a time and place for everything!). These are the perfect size, with the perfect ratio of bread to filling, at least to me. I want to be able to finish the whole sandwich without feeling like I overate or am stuffed to the gills. So the portions are the correct size, regardless of what anyone else might say.

My go to’s are a basic turkey with mayo and lettuce, or a hot corned beef with swiss and mustard on rye. I can’t speak for the other items, but if they are as good as those two, then you can’t go wrong!

Oh, and there’s always a Dad joke written on their board above the soda!“
