“Been to Mary Brown’s on Upper James for the first time today. Restaurant was very clean. Anand was super nice and helped me choose the right amount of food for me and my daughter. Chicken was fresh and very tasty (better than KFC). However, I found the taters and gravy to be a little salty. The coleslaw was very good if you like it very creamy. Will definitely return, thanks Anand!“

“Stopped by Charred last night during the Hamilton Art Crawl, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our evening. Given how packed the area gets during Art Crawl nights, we weren't sure we'd manage to get a table without a long wait, but we got lucky and were seated fairly quickly.

We ordered the chicken with slaw, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavour, while the slaw added a nice crunchy, refreshing contrast to balance out the richness of the dish. To go with our meal, we had a draft Lager, which was crisp and refreshing, exactly what you want on a hot summer evening.

We also asked for the Spicy sauce on the side, expecting to need it to kick things up a notch. But honestly, the chicken was so well-seasoned and tasty on its own that the sauce ended up being more of a bonus than a necessity.

What really stood out, though, was the service. Despite the restaurant being busy with the Art Crawl crowd, our server was fast, attentive, and polite throughout the meal. It's clear the team knows how to handle a rush without compromising on hospitality.

You get the sandwich, wedges and a bottle of pop for $9.99. Can't beat that. Also they have 1/2 off appetizers a different one each day. We always go on Mondays for their garlic bread and cheese $5 .
