“i was working in hamilton near stonechurch road was looking for fast lunch i came accross shawarma royal i was greeted with very freindly staff food smelled so good i ordered chicken shawarma platter combo was so tasty came with fries and coleslaw and beets and pickles the portion was large and the chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce was so tasty i was impresseed with the quality and how clean and tidy this restaurant was it was my first time trying shawarma royal i enjoyed the food and the staff was very friendly and i will recommend this place to all my friends and family .“

“What a great meal from Golden Pita!!! We both enjoyed 2 main entrees of Chicken Shawarma and Shiska Kafka, delicious Lentil Soup, Salad with Pita’s and Baklava for dessert. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. We love to support this family owned restaurant, they are always wonderful and pleasant to deal with. The pricing is reasonable and worth it. “The shawarma was absolutely fresh and delicious. The veggies were fresh and crispy and the chicken delicious. The best part about the restaurant is the hygiene by the person making the shawarma. They used new gloves for every shawarma which for me was the highlight. Other restaurants who don’t do that make me uneasy and this place was great about it. I was able to customize the shawarma to my preferences and it was very good and filling. Will be visiting this location again.“

“I’m a regular takeout customer of La Luna on Upper James. Their chicken fattoush salad is the best in Hamilton! Generous amounts of chicken and pita chips, and best of all- incredibly tasty.

“Customer service was optimal. Staff was welcoming and helped me decide on a meal. I had the chicken Shwarma salad meal, it was mouth watering, portion size was substantial and filling. Half filled me up but greed made me finish it and ordered another to go. Absolute BEST shwarma I have ever eaten. DEFINITELY WILL be returning and I recommend without hesitation. Stop by, you won't regret it.“

“We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the friendly service.
Best of all their honesty is above reproach. My wife forgot her purse hanging on the back of her chair. Being from out of town we didn’t realize till we got home almost 2 hours later and phoned immediately but they were closed. We left a message and within 10 minutes we got a call saying the purse was safe.Next day we recovered it including some cash, credit cards, health card and driver’s license….what a relief!

“Incredibly delicious food, served up in generous portions. I was visiting in the Hamilton area and found the food so tasty, that I ate here three times in a week; twice for lunch, once for dinner. First visit: lunch: had the vegetarian dish/platter of hummos, eggplant, falafel, fried cauliflower, grilled tomatoes, and mushrooms, served with your choice of soup or any of the salads on the menu and dinner plate sized fresh pitas. I had the Greek salad, which was excellent and, again, a generous portion. This meal could easily have been shared with two people, especially for lunch. My lunch mate took half of her meal home and I took my left over hummos (at least a half a cup) and pita for an afternoon snack later. Second visit: dinner with a group of six: I started with lentil soup, then had the spicy lemon shrimp with pilaf style rice and served with pita bread. We shared the salads that came as starters; all were delicious: Greek, Fatoush, and Tabouli. Third visit: spicy lemon shrimp, but substituted hummos for the rice. Again, generous portion with at least two dozen shrimp. Nothing chintzy about this place. The service could be a little more attentive, especially for the second dinner, which was at around 3:30 p.m. and, as is often the case when a restaurant is almost empty, was not hurried by any means. I had told the waitress I was in a hurry, but that didn't seem to help. Had to track her down to make my order and then my bill never came, so I went to the counter to pay. The service was better during the busy lunch and dinner hour visits. Still the food is so worth it, that I would go here anytime I'm back in the area and would recommend it to anyone.“
