“They are knowledgeable about allergens on their food. Staff is kind. Lots of dairy free and egg free options. Beware some dishes contain nuts. Large portions.

I recommend:
- B1 lamb with cumin ❤️. Tender lamb.
- Sliced fish with sauerkraut, contains glass and other noodles (H8?)
- P1 shredded pork with fish flavoured sauce (black vinegar flavour, not fishy)
- L7 beef and beef tripe in chili (fu qi fei pian). Not incredibly spicy.
- Shanghai sliced fish for delicate flavours

The green beans were not my favourite but still good.“

“I have been here a few times since I moved into the neighbourhood and I've always enjoyed the food. You get great value for what you get I always get a few meals ordering two entrees. The staff is always really friendly and I love it when the cute little guys are there playing in the front of house they are never in the way but it's so cute to see them playing. “We were really impressed with Chinhon restaurant takeout. The food was incredibly fresh and certainly provided that Canadian-Chinese food nostalgia. It would be nice to get some free white rice like other spots offer, and I found the MSG content a bit high, but unlike the other review, the garlic spareribs were some of the best I've ever had. We will certainly order again.“

I think they have a different cook now the food has changed a fair bit and not for the good. ie general tso chicken was very tough.
We only have this as a treat to ourselves and our guests. I guess those days are gone. We will go to Party Pizza instead.“

“Yes, i’ve been ordering from Cathays since I moved here five years ago. Delicious food, great portions, and for a reasonable price. I highly recommend the Cathays special fried rice. 👌🏽“

“Everything is simply awesome. The menus are simple, with a lot if options. The service is very polite and friendly (and online ordering is a big plus), food is delivered very promptly (one time it was 15 minutes early!). The food portions are generous, but quality is not sacrificed for quantity. What's a cool plus is that they use a mix of Styrofoam and reusable plastic containers (not only better for storage but a little less wasteful). I have only eaten 3 times from here, but have been very happy all times. The fried rice, general tao chicken, chicken balls, and egg rolls (among like 5 others I've tried) have all tasted great. Definitely think I've found my new Chinese delivery / take out place!“

Great service me and my mom called today the 9th of January and were ten min away (4:50pm) and she said 45 minutes and we asked if she could do it any faster. “For those who are wondering, there are lots of gluten-free options. When I called-in, the helpful staff-member listed off the dishes that are gluten-free (and then later circled them on a menu for me to take home). Everything was tasty, fresh, and hot.“

“I ordered takeout through Uber eats. There was a lot of food packed into the containers. I got the chicken balls, honey garlic spare ribs, oriental sweet and sour pork and vegetable chow Mein. The chow Mein was the star of the show. I love the wok hei flavour in the noodles. The chicken balls stayed crispy. The sweet and sour pork coating ended up not being crispy anymore, probably due to delivery. The spare ribs flavour was nice and the meat was tender. I will try more traditional dishes next time.“

“I stopped in yesterday as a walk-in. The service was good and my order didn't take too long. Half a dozen eggrolls and an order of fried wontons with sweet and sour sauce. When I got home and opened my order, there was no plum sauce nor sweet and sour sauces with my order.

I called the restaurant and explained that they didn't pack the sauces with the order. Staff apologized for the mixup and sent their driver with sauces in hand to my residence. No fuss , no muss.

Food was excellent and the same with the service. Mistakes happen , it's how thier service keeps me as a customer.“

“Don’t believe the negative reviews. The food was really good. I did order at 4:30pm so maybe the time of day does make a difference. The portion size was really good for the price. I have attached the menu for reference since their website is out of date for prices“
