My first ever experience with Jade Yi kitchen tonight! I must say I was rather disappointed with the experience. The food was priced quite high in my opinion, for example one egg roll was $2.80, with no bundling option if you purchase a half dozen or dozen etc. The chicken fried rice was mostly just rice, it did not seem as though there was much substance (chicken/veggies) in it. We got the general tao chicken, beef with Chinese broccoli, shrimp dim sum and pork dim sum +2 rice portions.Everything was nice a and tasty. The chicken was seasoned pretty well and was my favorite. The dim sums were not small, filled nicely with lots of protein and tasted amazing when dipped in the general's tao thick sauce. Best Chinese food in the west end. My family and I go regularly now. It’s a local family business where the food is delicious and the prices are great. I always crave their green beans with minced pork and deep fried garlic ribs. They are my favourite green beans across the hundreds of Chinese restaurants that I have been to.
