“I came here today with my family and I honestly couldn’t believe Matt’s service…it was absolutely fantastic!!! I don’t usually go out because I really don’t like people but Matt might have just changed my mind on that. At least for Montanas. I can now say montanas will be our go to night out place, and hopefully we always get Matt. I’m sure everyone else is great tooo but Matt is definitely our pick.“

“Stopped in here for a dinner. Didn’t seem very busy and we have had good experiences before with Kelsey’s. The proximity to shopping after dinner was a factor.

We arrived and were sat immediately. The server for our section seemed harried and I am quite patient knowing what service jobs are like but… overall it took 40 minutes to get our app, and it was cold - had obviously been sitting in the window a little. I asked for our mains to come out as soon as they were ready and it was astounding to see them within 2 to 3 minutes further cementing the fact our app was sitting.

I don’t wish to needle our server - he was very busy taking care of the two tables in our section and the entire patio (at least it seemed that way). He had some food runners that helped out but only after I semi complained about wait times did I see a second server come in to assist in the section at a new table that had been sat. I don’t blame our server for the poor service in this case but a perceived lack of teamwork from the other servers.

As we left I made a point of looking around to see what the general busy-ness was and saw a grand total of less than 10 tables throughout the restaurant with people in various stages of dinner, servers seemed busy and hostess greeted us as we left. The patio wraps around the corner of the building so I couldn’t see all of it but it was the busiest part of the restaurant.

Teamwork and perhaps a restructuring of section division would have made our experience so much better. I would hate to see how service is when they are busy!

Lost story short- cold apps, harried server, long wait for service, good food but overall generally disappointing

“We haven't been to Swiss Chalet in years, but bro wanted to go for the roast beef, which is a temporary special. They don't normally serve beef.
He and hubby both enjoyed it very much. I had a hot chicken sandwich, and sis-in-law had a hot beef sandwich. Both came with 2 sides - I chose fries and Caesar salad - and wow, there was enough food there to keep me going for the next 2 days!
I was expecting the salad to be the size of a side salad, however it looked more like a main dish size. I shared it with hubby.

All the food got top marks from all of us. We ordered dessert, which we don't usually do, but the pictures looked delicious. They didn't lie. The cheese cake is to die for! (I shared mine with hubby because the serving was very generous.)
Not only were we pleased with the food, but the service was great too. The young lady who served us looked after us very well, and with a big friendly smile.
I think we'll be going back again before too long.“

“My wife and I visited Milestones in Kanata last Saturday and had a thoroughly enjoyable and delicious meal. Luckily, we arrived before 5 pm so took advantage of the Happy Hour price of wine, which was Canadian wine for a change. In fact, they had 4 or 5 VQA wines on offer, in addition to the delicious Jackson-Triggs house red and white wines at $6/glass. Kudos!

The Wham-Bam shrimp starter was delicious with its crispy coating and spicy Thai sauce that left a warm afterglow. My Blackened Chicken Alfredo was delicious, hot and heaping, as was my wife's Pesto Chicken Penne Asiago, both with focaccia toast. Next time, I'll control myself and leave some to take home for lunch the next day, as my wife did.

The shared white chocolate cheesecake for desert was scrumptious. A coffee brought the total to $115 before tip. Service was excellent and other than the high prices, we had no complaints at all. There is no option to rate prices/value for money but if there were, it would have gotten a 3 out of 5 rating.“

“Visited Montana's 13th November 2022 with a group of 7 other people. The atmosphere was good, enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and conversation, followed by our server taking our meal order. She was very efficient and ensured all our needs were met. The order took longer than expected to arrive, and when it did, the food was just warm. We explained to the server who was apologetic, the food was heated to our satisfaction, and enjoyed by all. We were visited by the Manager In order to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, following the issue we had experienced. She very kindly told us she was giving us a reduction on the total price as a sign of goodwill, and also provided free dessert for the group. I would say that was an excellent show of hospitality on the part of Montana's, and we will definitely be arranging future visits.“

“Today was my second time trying this location; first was dine-in with a friend on a week night and today was a take-out. All servers were very knowledgeable about food menu and how food were prepared. What amazed me the most was the pleasant vibe of the server during the dine-in experience. It's late at night, yet, the server was excited to present the menu and offered dessert options in case we changed our minds.
For today, total take-out time was within the 15-16 mins time frame which the server had mentioned. The server was very patient with my questions about the menu. Some people who arrived later than me seemed to have ordered online and were saying that they waited more than 30 minutes. I don't know how the online order works with the pick up timing, but I hope that customers can be more understanding towards evening staffs who probably gave up their weekend night to serve customers. I am thankful that I got to order some food that were available. I would definitely come back to this location for another dine-in or take-out.“
