The food is delicious, especially their crispy spicy crab and the miso soup, I’d also recommend the miso soup as an appetizer and also the staff is lovely. Worth a visit if you’re in the area or even if you’re not. 5 stars“

“I went to Hockey Sushi for dinner with a friend, initially feeling somewhat sceptical about the place. However, seeing a steady line of people waiting to get in convinced me to put my assumptions aside and give it a fair shot.

After about a 15-minute wait, I was pleasantly surprised by the open-concept dining room. While it may not offer the most intimate or refined atmosphere, the layout gives the restaurant a lively, bustling energy. That said, the atmosphere itself was not particularly remarkable.

The food arrived surprisingly quickly, and the sashimi was easily the highlight of the experience. For an all-you-can-eat establishment, the quality was impressive. The white tuna was buttery and delicate, while the salmon tasted fresh and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the sushi rolls were less memorable. They were oversized, somewhat plain, and lacked the balance of flavour that made the sashimi stand out.

The meat selection was another pleasant surprise. The lamb skewers, in particular, were delicious and added some welcome variety beyond the usual sushi offerings. Service was friendly and efficient, although interactions were fairly brief and could have been a little more engaging.

Overall, Hockey Sushi may not be the destination for someone seeking an elevated Japanese dining experience, but it delivers where it matters most for an all-you-can-eat restaurant: generous portions, satisfying food, and solid value for money. If you’re looking to get the most out of your dollar while enjoying quality sashimi and a variety of other options, Hockey Sushi is certainly one of the stronger contenders in Ottawa’s all-you-can-eat sushi scene.“

“I dont usually give praise.. however I wanted to tell you guys about the experience I had with Maki sushi. Something happen to our order and David is a lowkey superhero. He defused the situation and provided a solution and covered 100% of their most expensive platter. I have not seen such amazing customer service in my life, let alone the sushi being pretty good and reasonable priced. One negative I would add was I wish there were more selection though. However tuna and salmon are my fav and that was fully on their menu

“We made an order for Valentine’s day and unfortunately the driver chose to take another order before ours so the food came an hour late. However the food is amazing and service wise there wasnt much they could change about the situation except they gave us free cheese and chocolate cakes ! 🤓Thank you ! I was still happy once we finally received our food its the best sushi I’ve had in Ottawa. We’ve ordered before where it was fast just note the orders are delivered by dash drivers so on a busy day mistakes can happen.“
