“Probably the best pre packaged sushi places I've tried. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first tried this a few weeks ago, but have definitely gone back a few times since. I wish there was more rice and less lettuce in the poke bowls, but that's my only criticism. Absolutely will be back for more sushi!“

“Absolutely fantastic all‑you‑can‑eat sushi experience. The sashimi was fresh and generous, the sushi was consistently delicious, and the service was genuinely warm and attentive. What really stood out was how considerate they were about my shellfish allergy — something that’s usually tricky at sushi restaurants. They took it seriously, double‑checked everything, and made me feel completely safe while still enjoying a great meal. Highly recommend for both quality and care.

Plus they have a robot!“

It's a great place if you have some important guests to treat. The atomosphere is awesome and the dishes are fancy, but not necessarily priceworthy. These premium parts also gonna reflect on the bill.“

“This is the best sushi I’ve tried so far in Ottawa. When I say the best, I mean the best overall.
Every component of the dish is excellent on its own. The rice is cooked perfectly, fully done but not soft or mushy. The seasoning is outstanding, just like in Japan, and noticeably less sweet than most places in Ottawa, which I really appreciate. This is how it should taste.
The fish was fresh and properly seasoned. The balance between fish and rice is spot on, with generous portions. Plenty of salmon, double eel, and large pieces of tuna. Just check the photos.
This is definitely my go-to place for sushi takeout.“

“For a takeout-only sushi place, this restaurant is truly impressive. The ingredients are fresh, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable.
The packaging is secure and well organized, keeping everything fresh and intact during delivery. Even though it’s not dine-in, you can tell the team puts real care into the presentation and overall quality.
The taste is consistently good — I’ve ordered multiple times and have never been disappointed.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for great sushi takeout! 🍣“

“I recently had the chance to dine at Sushi Kan in Ottawa, and overall it was a very enjoyable experience. If you are looking for a place in Ottawa where you can enjoy a wide variety of sushi and Japanese dishes in a casual setting, Sushi Kan is definitely a solid option.

One of the first things that stands out about Sushi Kan is the all-you-can-eat menu format. Instead of going up to a buffet, you order everything directly from a menu or tablet and the staff bring the dishes to your table. This makes the experience feel a bit more relaxed and organized compared to traditional buffets. It also means the food is usually prepared fresh in smaller portions, which is nice because you can try many different items without feeling overwhelmed.

The variety of food options is quite impressive. Besides the standard sushi rolls, there are many different types of sashimi, nigiri, specialty rolls, and cooked dishes. The menu also includes appetizers, soups, salads, grilled items, tempura, noodles, and desserts. This makes it a great place for groups, since even people who are not huge sushi fans can still find something they enjoy.

The sushi itself was fresh and nicely presented. The rice had a good texture and balance of seasoning, and the fish tasted clean and fresh. Some of the specialty rolls were quite creative, with combinations of sauces and toppings that added a lot of flavor. The portions are not huge, but that’s actually perfect for an all-you-can-eat format because you can continue ordering and try many different things.

I also enjoyed several of the hot dishes. The tempura was crispy and light, not overly greasy, and the fried items came out hot. The grilled dishes and appetizers were flavorful and came in small portions that made them easy to share at the table. It’s definitely the kind of place where ordering a wide variety of dishes and sharing them with friends or family makes the meal more fun.

Another thing worth mentioning is the speed of service. Considering how busy Sushi Kan can get, especially during dinner hours or weekends, the food arrived at a fairly steady pace. The staff were attentive and friendly, and they cleared empty plates quickly so the table never felt crowded.

The atmosphere is casual but comfortable. The restaurant has a lively energy, especially when it’s busy. It’s a popular spot for groups, family dinners, and casual nights out with friends. The interior is modern and clean, with plenty of seating, so even when it’s full it doesn’t feel overly cramped.

Because it is an all-you-can-eat restaurant, it can sometimes get quite busy, particularly on weekends. Making a reservation or arriving earlier in the evening can make the experience smoother. Despite the crowd, the overall organization of the restaurant keeps things moving efficiently.

Another positive aspect is the value for the price. Considering the variety and the ability to try many different dishes, Sushi Kan offers good value if you enjoy sushi and want to explore multiple items on the menu. It’s especially great for groups because everyone can order what they like and share.

Overall, my experience at Sushi Kan was very positive. The restaurant offers a large selection of sushi and Japanese dishes, fresh ingredients, and a fun all-you-can-eat format that encourages trying many different flavors. It’s a great place for casual dining, group gatherings, or simply satisfying a sushi craving.

I would definitely come back again and would recommend Sushi Kan to anyone in Ottawa looking for a reliable and enjoyable all-you-can-eat sushi experience.“
