““Don’t judge a book by its cover”!GREAT food- aged yet quaint and clean interior setting-authentic but also have “Canadian Chinese” option on the menu ;) !!! We had tough luck on our long drive as our favourite food places weren’t open this time or under renovations-so that’s how we decided to give a new place a try- and boy are we happy we did!!

“I cannot comment on the above, but when I called, they were very pleasant. However, they do not carry gluten-free. Everything is now coded in wheat like the Canadian people do. I know in the past, many years ago, when the Chinese were first here, opening restaurants, most of their eggrolls and coated chicken balls and so on we’re covered in a rice and cornstarch crust.

This restaurant does not offer mail packages for purchase that are gluten-free unfortunately!“

“Pontypool is so spoiled to have this store/restaurant tucked away at the corners. Maybe the best hidden gem in the Kawarthas.

I have given this place a decade long trial run and it is deceptively good, both the subs from the convenience store and the Chinese food. The assorted sub has that slab of white cheese that is just perfect on a sub *chefs kiss*.

When I was working nearby we got Royal Garden at least once a week. Egg roll game is silly and the lo mein is a spiritual experience.

I don't stop in here enough and my life is poorer for it.

The aesthetics of the place need some fresh paint but they got everything for your house, a sub for your soul and Chinese food so good I just straight up refuse to eat it anywhere else.“
