“this place is amazing and the food is perfect. I am a vegetarian and I ordered falafal wrap and Falafel plate with rice. The portion size is huge. me and my husband ordered 2 combo- One wrap+fries+coke can (2 of these=40$ in total) but we couldn’t finish it. The staff was super friendly and took care of our special requests. Special thanks to Rajvinder Kaur ji, who gave us amazing food and extra ketchup and tray when asked for. I would give it10/10. Would definitely recommend!! I will come again with my husband’☺️“
“I have been buying kabab naan and beryani from this place from over a year now. It's always fresh and super yummy! I'm so adicted to their chicken kabab and must have it at least once a month. Their portion of beryani is enough for 3 people. I'm always impressed with the amout of chatnei they give me everytime I order from here.“

“The food was excellent and fairly priced, but the thing that truly set this place apart was the service. Whoever was working the counter on Tuesday September 2nd genuinely provided me some of the best customer service I have seen at a restaurant, we were helped pick options, he was extremely kind, and he even came out the give our food to us.“

“Excellent spot if you are NOT hungry yet and happen to be craving any combination of fries, poutine, or shawarma, especially for Halal meat.
They have really solid daily $10 specials (Sunday is Jerk Chicken Poutine) for a LARGE.
We were there around 3 pm on a Sunday afternoon, and there was only one person waiting ahead of us in line. This is a great time to come because by 3:15, there were at least 7 or 8 people! Some had made orders in advance over the phone (or online via Uber Eats), so I'm not sure what their influx truly was - but I will say that their estimated time for us of 25 minutes was far off the mark. We waited just a hair over 36 minutes.
Based on the comments made by other patrons (at the restaurant that day, but also through reviews), this timing issue seems common. Therefore, I do not recommend coming hungry.
Once you get the food though, it's a fairly respectable portion. We got 2 Jerk Chicken Poutines, a Gorillas Fries, and regular Poutine (all size large), and split between four adults, it was decently filling.
We're not usually fries eaters this so take this with a grain of salt (haha), but we found the meal definitely to be on the saltier end. The jerk chicken has a bit of spice but not a ton, and the meat on the gorilla fries felt similar to burger meat. (Burger meat with cheese and sauce is basically stereotypical comfort food). The regular price feels a bit steep but if your preferred meal of choice happens to be the daily special, it's hard to go wrong for $10.
All in all, it's probably a true 3, but because of their daily specials, I can make the case that on particular days, it's actually a 4 (since those are evergreen daily specials from what I understand). But hey, we're rounding up to support local businesses, so let's call it a 5, okay? Just don't come hungry!

“I heard about this restaurant from reviews. I wanted to try their food. Unfortunately, their customer service is very slow. Ordering ahead of time stil not helpful for speedy pickup. Another customer told me ordered 35 minutes ago and still he was waiting.
Restaurant is clean, washroom was good too. The person taking orders at cash and waitress the same person and she was running around and made her to forget as well (she was nice and pleasant).“

“After going to their yonge and weldrick location for many many years, I happened to be in north Richmond hill (yonge and king road) and saw this other location! What can I say, very friendly welcoming service, clean organized interior and very fresh quality meat. Prices are average compared to the other 500+ kabob restaurants in this area but Taftan seems to stand out simply because of their reputation and large portion sizes. Today I got the barg (filet mignon beef) combo with rice and a side order of a chicken leg skewer. And hey they even threw in free cans of pop, lots of butter packets for the rice, packets of sumac (that tangy but distinct middle eastern red spice), and a pita bread! I’ll be sure to return again.“

“Hands down the BEST Burger in the city. Whenever I get the urge for a berg its hard to top my own,, A big pain in the arse. BUT no more!! Because Yonge Burger is is the best of the best Burg's in Toronto! French fries, onion rings are delicious too. Also, you can't beat the price. Also Quality & Service is outstanding.“

“We had a wonderful experience at Caravan Kabob in Richmond Hill! We ordered the family platter, which came with a delicious whole chicken, 2 juicy chapli kebabs, 4 fresh naan, hummus, crispy fries, and a generous salad. To our surprise, they also gave us complimentary firni for dessert — such a thoughtful touch!
They weren’t frugal with the sauces either, and everything was packed with flavor. The customer service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance was cozy, welcoming, and very clean.
Definitely recommend for a family meal or group gathering. We’ll be back!“

The owner, Luca, marinates and cooks the chicken himself right outside, and you can truly taste the passion he puts into every plate. He was welcoming and friendly, and the food was just incredible. “I ordered the chicken salad from Pita Land and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was perfectly cooked, super flavorful, and so fresh. I mixed the hot sauce and tzatziki sauce together and honestly, that combo is just next-level amazing. 🔥🥗

BUT I NEED TO SAY ABOUT ROSS & NIMESH from CHASKA INDIAN STREET FOOD. I contacted them just a few days before for my daughter's Baby Shower event. The minute I called NIMESH, he was so professional and detailed on the phone and connected me to ROSS.. that I signed up with him right away…AND I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION‼‼ They were there well in advance with perfect setup on the tables and the party was seamless..
