About Metro Square Café Restaurant

Metro Square Café Restaurant is a legacy Hong Kong style restaurant with good standards. They offer a variety of selections at reasonable prices, including authentic and delicious dishes like the Sizzling hot plate mixed grill, Satay rice noodles, and beef tendon & brisket rice noodles. The portions are smaller compared to other restaurants, but you can opt for combos. The Cha Chaan Tang is reliably solid, serving tasty meals such as the club sandwich, lamb chop with strong lamb flavor, and crispy fried chicken wings. The fish fillet is very tasty, and side dishes include broccoli, tomatoes, and corn.

The restaurant is clean, bright, and spacious with plenty of seating, making it a good spot for a weeknight dinner rush. While some dishes like the Seafood fried noodle are tasty, others like the Bitter Melon spare rib rice may be hit or miss. The Baked chicken on tomato sauce rice has a sweeter sauce, but the corn is a nice addition. The garlic buns are delicious even if slightly burnt, and the Hong Kong-style milk tea is rich with a fragrant tea base.

Service is quick and accommodating, with very friendly and courteous staff. There are many parking spaces near the restaurant, both in front and behind the building. Overall, Metro Square Café Restaurant has room for improvement in some menu items but remains a solid choice for Hong Kong-style dining.

Food is generally good with excellent service.
Unfortunately, the 2 younger baristas don't have any idea( 撞茶) how to prepare Hong Kong Milk Tea. As a result, tea is not smooth and not enough favours.
The meals aren't dirt cheap like some other cha chaan tengs, but the portions are large and the quality is there. Their sizzling plates are around the $30 mark now but they will easily feed two people. They're not skimping on protein. The drinks are solid as well. They're strong, not sad and watery. I've been ordering from here for years. Still one of my fav places for baked rice.
Passed by this place a few times but only decided to visit after seeing them on CCUE IG. First time had tea set was okay. Second time had chiu chow ho fan and satay vermicelli. Both missing flavour. Like the other reviews say the food in general is missing some msg. I think out of all the CCTs in Toronto they have the most selection. I think if they add more msg to the food it would be great.
