We ordered the Brookie Sunday (brownie + cookie situation) and… wow. Rich, indulgent, perfectly balanced, and straight-up unreal. One bite in and my girl just looked at me and said, “Next level.” Zero exaggeration.

Everything tasted premium, thoughtfully made, and worth every calorie. If you have a sweet tooth—or even if you think you don’t—this place will change your mind.

“I had a wonderful experience at Almast Turkish Delight Cafe at Dixie & Dundas. I tried their cold baklava and Turkish tea, and both were absolutely delicious. The baklava was perfectly chilled, rich, and not overly sweet, while the tea was authentic and refreshing — a perfect pairing.

The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. You can really feel the hospitality as soon as you walk in. The ambiance is warm, cozy, and beautifully set up, making it a great place to relax and enjoy dessert.

From the moment we walked in, AZMIYE greeted us with genuine warmth and a bright smile. She patiently explained the menu and Turkish treats, making our visit not just about food but about connection. That personal touch made all the difference.

We ordered espresso, macchiato, olive börek, and beef börek — each freshly baked, golden, and crisp on the outside with rich, flavorful fillings. The coffee was strong, smooth, and perfectly balanced — a true taste of Turkey in every sip.

The café’s vibe is inspiring — from the uplifting quote on the wall, “The best thing I ever did was believe in me,” to the cheerful sign that says “It’s a good day to have a good day.” Every corner radiates positivity and charm.

You can also browse a lovely selection of Turkish products — Casvaa pistachio and Turkish coffee, Doğa Life herbal oils, Ülker and Halley biscuits, Berrak sauces, and more. It’s part café, part boutique — a little piece of Istanbul right in the heart of Mississauga.

“I have been here several times for breakfast. The coffee is smooth and well prepared, and they have a good variety of breakfast options to choose from.

“Well, my initial thoughts are that this is much more elevated than the lounge upstairs. Many varieties of food to go, and a bartender who serves you proper.

There is pleasant background music going. I have a glass-poured Caesar from a can, but the bartender rimmed it and added ice. Works for me. I grabbed one of the least filling premade items - charcuterie. But they also had hot items (Samosas) with toppings. Many wraps and sandwiches available to go!

“Nice coffee shop beside a great pizza place. Owners seem very friendly. There is plenty of parking and a large patio. Perfect for the summer. The mechanic across the street is also fantastic and referred me over here while he worked on my car so great spot if you need work done on a car and take a break.“

“Love this gem of a place! I almost want to keep it to myself. My favourite item here is the avocado toast which is just $4.50 (one slice of toast, avocado, 1 egg, and feta). It’s so satisfying. The people working here are also warm and welcoming. They mostly service the people working in the area so it can get a bit busy during lunch hours. There is also the city wifi and lots of seating space if you need to get work done. 10/10 recommend.“

This place continues to inspire and remind me of the importance of kindness, humanity and consistent strive for community change. On my most recent visit, I attended a coffee watercolour paint day, where the café repurposed used coffee grinds. This innovative practice caught my attention, as well as placing it near international dog day (also my dogs birthday) allowed me to bring my dog and my parents to participate in accessible outdoor fun for all of us and creating some art to celebrate a fun day. This was just one example of the many ways 89 continues to inspire me and the community at large.“
