Emerald Chinese Restaurant Reviews
The past 25 years, the whole family has been going here, it was great in the beginning. Now the past 5 years -down hill, staff service suck, food is cold, staff won’t tell customers they will microwave food that has been sitting around for hours. Staff doesn’t deserve tip. They will lie, yup lie, watch your bill on add items and up the charges on orders, they will get confused and bill you anyways, I heard it and seen it, they automatically charge customers 12% tip!

Foods are not as good as before, salty and oily. Also they are so much overpriced.
My family of three went to Emerald on Thursday night at 7pm and what I noticed first was that the restaurant was empty (usual for a Thursday evening) expect for two other tables. All in all there were only three tables being used and on table only had one person. Emerald Chinese Restaurant remains a well-regarded establishment for authentic Chinese cuisine in Mississauga. The menu features high-quality dishes such as Peking duck, roasted pork, and a variety of dim sum items. The restaurant is known for its noodles with bean sprouts and soy sauce, as well as its Hong Kong-style Lobster.
Customers have praised the restaurant's old-school dining room setting, complete with fish tanks and hanging Dragon ornaments, which creates a nostalgic atmosphere. The dim sum selection is extensive, with many classic items that are hard to find elsewhere, such as congee, har gow, chicken feet, and stuffed eggplant and green pepper. While some dishes like shrimp cheung fun and siu mai have been described as average, the overall quality of the dim sum is considered better than downtown Chinatown.
The restaurant can be busy, often hosting functions and parties, which can make it lively at times. Customers have noted that the service can be inconsistent, with some servers being more friendly and polite than others. However, the cart ladies are generally helpful, and the restaurant's late hours and good prices make it a popular choice for many diners.
