“I dropped by on my birthday with my mom after moving away for 20+ years because I have a very cherished memory of my mother bringing home their cakes when I was a little girl on birthdays. The most delicious cakes I have ever had and filled with warm memories. We didn't call ahead so of course we caught them very off guard but I guess the staff noticed how much this meant to me. This bakery has been around for years for a reason and they are one of the very few that still go the extra mile to make their customers' special days even something more to remember. I left with the exact cake I remember my mother bringing home and feeling ever so thankful and delighted; it's something I haven't felt on my birthdays for the past few years. I am immensely thankful and blown out of the water with the cake. Delicious. And very obviously made with so much care.“

“I saw Sugar and Slice at the Welland market today and couldn’t resist trying the pecan butter tarts. The 2 ppl serving me were lovely and informed me that I need to compost the container because the packaging is made from plants. That extra care is amazing and I was so happy when they told me. I saved them for a family post dinner treat and OMG these pecan butter tarts were the best we have ever had!! Perfect amount of crust, gooey inside, crunchy pecans, and the topping- whoa- caramelized sugary perfection. Amazing job you guys! Thank you for a wonderful shopping experience, your extra environmental care and the amazing treats. So glad I stopped 😍“
