“I've lived in Canada for over 30 years, resigned to the fact that baked sweets and desserts are cloyingly sweet, barely edible (sorry, patriots). I lived politely refusing cakes at parties, not because I would not enjoy coffee and a dessert, but , you know... Then new hope arrived in JC Patisserie and voila! I am willing to drive to Thorold to enjoy desserts that actually taste as mango, chocolate, strawberry, etc., without the domination of sugar! Hats down to the crew at JC Patissier!“

“My husband and I visited Niagara on the Lake for the first time yesterday. We stopped into Fritters on the Lake and were absolutely so impressed. Not only was the lunch recommendation on point; the fritters were absolutely amazing. However, the best thing ever was the service! Zoran was the kindest person ever and when I spoke to my family by phone later in the day-he was the first one I told them about. I’m not sure when I’ll make it back but Fritters on the Lake will be my first stop and everyone that is headed that way will have my highest recommendation. “Discovered this hidden gem today in st. Catharines. Walked in to a delicious smelling spot. The lavender latte and cream cheese stuffed pretzel were a yummy morning treat. Wide variety of treats and drinks. The man behind the counter was welcoming, friendly, and patient while I decided what treats to get for me and the kids. Reasonable prices.“

“Came here today after seeing so many beautiful & delicious posts on Facebook; made it with like 10 minutes left before closing (we felt really bad to arrive so late; we drove half an hour from Welland to check them out) and the lady running the store that day was so welcoming and we didn't feel rushed at all! She was so kind and gave us a bunch of complimentary desserts🥹 we got 6 cheesecakes/mousses and a box of the macarons and it was just such a great experience! we tried a bite of everything before we even got home and every single bite we were like 🤯 Desserts are beautiful and hand made! You can tell a lot of love was put into them💓 We'll be back for sure! I didn't get a picture of the desserts before we dug into them but if they aren't destroyed I'll add a picture of what they look like since being home she also mentioned they stay good in the fridge for 5 days and that they freeze nicely which is a plus! I don't like wasting desserts but sometimes don't finish them fast enough😭“

“I only came in for a butter tart, and saw the Vanilla Florentine as well. They had an assortment of tarts, pastries, and other bakery items. I ultimately went with the chocolate butter pecan. It did not disappoint. Not overly sweet, sticking to its roots. The chocolate and pecans really elevated the sweet desert to a level of awesomeness.

The Vanilla Florentine, was not overly sweet, was nutty, and enjoyable. Definently worth the try.

Staff could have been more welcoming and inviting but sadly that was not the case. Either way, definently a good spot for some butter tarts!“

One of the staff at Caffe Gatti said she would deliver it personally as I was worried about the condition if it went through a delivery service. “ABSOLUTE ROCK STARS! Recently purchased some meat to make my first batch of sausage with. Nick went above and beyond and educated me on the different cuts of meats, what percentages to use and tips and tricks and made sure I got the best of the best. When I picked up everything Joe treated me like family and was very helpful and friendly and also gave me some more education. It's awesome to see two people take so much pride and passion in what they do and treating customers like family. Also, on my way into the store I stopped by the bakery department (like the elf I am LOL) and spoke with the bakery person who was amazing (sorry, didnt get her name, older lady with glasses-very friendly). She educated me on ALL of the sweets and baked goods, how much pride/passion they take in their in house baking goods and also the specialty items from Germany and Italy etc. WOW! Thanks to these three ROCKSTARS you have gained a customer for life (I live in Wainfleet but WORTH the drive!!) Thank you Commisso's for having amazing passionate staff!“

“I stopped by your bakery when I was in Saint Catherine’s to check it out and must say that it was a great experience overall! The staff was friendly, and they have a wide variety of baked items, including butter, tarts, cookies – oatmeal, chocolate, oatmeal, chocolate, chunk, peanut butter, etc., croissants, date, squares, and danishes!. The prices are very fair and the service is excellent. Free parking is available. I highly recommend.“

“Cashier is not very friendly. She seems to panic when there are few people in line. I have multiple times scene her ask people to wait when picking up or ordering a cake. We have stood in line waiting and to ask you to wait even longer because she wants to serve everyone behind you is ridiculous.“

Scott individually wrapped an assortment of tarts including Skor, Turtles, Raisonette, etc. We used them as favours at each table setting and the rest were left on a tray by the door. “A separate store next to the gas station. This is a take-out location with a drive thru and no seating. Got their iced latte for $3. Quality of drink was good. I also asked if I could get a cup of water as I was really thirsty. The staff gave me a large cup with ice and water. Thank you!“

“I’m not sure why the tables always seem dirty at this location. I understand the nature of the business and that things can quickly get out of hand. However, I don’t recall a time where I’ve been there in the past two years - about a dozen visits - where the tables weren’t a mess.“
