Carens Rosedale is a French restaurant located in the Yorkville area of Toronto. It offers a cozy and comfortable ambiance, reminiscent of a Parisian bistro, complete with a back section featuring a fireplace and an appealing skylight. The menu presents numerous excellent selections, including a Croque Mossier, pasta special, duck confit, steak tartare, mussels, and cheese fondue, which have all been praised for their taste and quality. The fondue is particularly noted for being rich and flavorful, served with plenty of bread, and guests appreciate the free refills of bread that enhance the experience. Desserts and drinks, such as the Prosecco served at the perfect temperature and the fantastic coffee, also received positive comments. The service is warm, friendly, and professional, ensuring that guests feel at home. The restaurant is clean and provides both indoor seating with candles and an artificial fireplace, as well as sidewalk seating with heat lamps. While the indoor space is cozy, some guests have noted that it can get stuffy on hot days. Carens Rosedale hosts a piano night and offers half-price wine bottles on Wednesdays, including a notable Bordeaux. The restaurant also features a shrimp cocktail, chicken pâté, and a fish of the day, all of which are well-received. Fondue night remains a highlight, showcasing gruyère and Swiss cheese fondue accompanied by tart granny smith apples. Overall, it is a great find, highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy fresh dishes in a pleasant atmosphere.
