Your taste actual notes in the coffee, not just tobacco and chocolate like you typically get at any other espresso coffee shop around the city.
If you’re going for an actual coffee experience come here.

“In Toronto, most coffee shops and roasters offer the same fare, and nothing stands out. But Ethica goes above and beyond in ways that make it one of my favorites. Their specialty drinks are exceptional. The decor and thoughtful seating arrangements create a welcoming space. They stock 10% cream and won't judge you for using it (unlike many third-wave shops in town that act like you've committed a coffee crime). The beans are delicious, and the graphic design and packaging are delightful. Love this place.“

“I’ve been working in the financial district for over 15 years, and have never written a review for a coffee spot here. My go to used to be Formo Cultura, cause I hated Mos Mos, and Dineen, and maman was just okay, but my God I’ve never had a latte like the one here. Which scares me cause I don’t think I can go back and this coffee spot is not path accessible but I might risk it all in Canadian winters for coffee from here.“

“We discovered this hidden gem on Ossington! They roast their own coffee and also sell coffee beans and wines. The coffee is delicious, and the warm, aesthetic space is cozy and welcoming—perfect for starting the day right. We tried the buttery almond croissant and chocolate croissant, and my kids and I loved them! The barista is kind and cheerful. We’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in the area.“

“Been to pilot a few times because it is in the path. I always used to come for the pear cider and I am really sad that that is gone, I wish some of their staples stayed on the menu. This summer I’ve been really into matcha and tried their mango sticky rice matcha which was creative and the strawberry matcha. I quite liked the mango sticky rice one although I couldn’t quite taste the sticky rice (coconut / condense milk flavouring) but the mango comes out quite nicely. I thought the strawberry one was fairly tasty too. My only small issue is there is way too much ice in the drink.“

I was completely over the moon when I saw that they had Mince Pies and Toffee Pudding on menu.

The Cafe in itself has a lot of charm to it as well. So you're going to want to stay awhile.

“Great coffee shop. It's actually a bit of a hidden gem location. Can get quite busy during the school year and when all the students are in the area. But on weekends (especially in the summer) it's a great spot to get some work done or meet up for a coffee and a chat with a friend. Nice tables and chairs outside where you can enjoy the outdoors. It's also kind of quiet, which is surprising for the middle of downtown.
