“On Saturday, November 23, 2024 me and my triplet sisters hosted our 50th Decades Themed Birthday Party!!! We had a blast! The Kingston House Restaurant is a hidden treasure. The event space downstairs was the perfect venue exactly what we were looking for. The owner Chris and his staff were very generous and accommodating which helped us create an unforgettable and memorable experience for us and our guests. The food and service were excellent and they let us decorate! If you are looking for a restaurant that feels like family with a warm and friendly atmosphere then this is the place for you!“

“A good friend from Montreal, was in Toronto today, and an acquaintance who we haven't seen for some time, and Bill and I met for a late lunch at the 'House on Parliament', (454 Parliament St. - west side of the St., south of Carlton St.). Someone recommended to us and it was our first visit there. The staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was great, the food (great menu) was delicious, and the prices were fair! I had the 'Vodka cured smoked salmon' with fresh basil cream cheese, capers, cucumber, red onion confit and crostini. Very fresh and very tasty. The others also really enjoyed their meal too. If you're ever in the vicinity, I would highly recommend going there. Check out their page on fb to see some great pics of the food they serve. We will definitely go back there...“

“If you are trying to break into the Danforth stretch of pubs/ restaurants/ storefronts, the Edmund Burke is a good place to start. It has great pub setting , and is a lovely casual dim light interior for hanging out witj friends or meeting new people. The server I had is friendly with great vibe and energy.
Really enjoyed the chicken schnitzel with buttered spaetzle!! The spaetzle was very taste.. little dumplings topped with butter and fried up to have some good crisp. The chicken schnitzel was proper crispy, but not dry. It was tasty and seasoned well. There is a back patio and a front sidewalk patio-- great for people watching👀“

“We have been here many times and has always been great. Saturday was a little different, I don't know they were short staffed. But had to ask several times for water and had to usually ask for another drink before we were asked. Food wasn't that hot temperature wise either. We will give them the benefit of the doubt and go again at some point. But was a bit disappointed this time.“

“I had lunch at The Commoner today and thoroughly enjoyed it! The steak was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The salad was a highlight as well, thanks to its especially tasty dressing — definitely worth trying. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the staff are friendly and attentive. “The Thai red curry was just amazing, reminds me of my trip to Chiang Mai. The seafood pasta with mussels was also great. All made in house. Rare find in area. Great craft beer. A hidden gem from all the places in the area that serve basic chicken wings and deep fried offerings. The entrance is not desirable, but was told the entrance is being renovated.“

“Tucked in the enclave of Leslieville is this gem of a restaurant Goods and Provisions. The ambiance is great with warm wood paneling on the walls and low warm tone lighting. The wall decorations are eclectic and help create the vibe. I was impressed with the playlist as well and was told that it was the owners fav song selections.
However the star of this restaurant is the food. Shared steak tartare and duck frites. The steak tartare was fresh and vibrant and the toasty bread was an excellent accompaniment. The duck was tender and juicy and the jus on the fries was great.
I had the grilled octopus as well which was served on a crisp hash brown that was divine. This was one great meal. The server informed us that the menu changes weekly. How wonderful! A small menu done well.
I will definitely be returning.“

“I loved this pub so much I got married here! We had a small ceremony (20 people) on the dreamy back patio and a medium reception (55 people) on the upper floors. Steve and his staff were a dream to work with. I won't get into all the details but it was like working with a proper wedding planning team with the benefit (and cost!) of a casual, cozy pub wedding. Everyone raved about the food and the staff.“

“Had a great brunch at Hoyra. Food and coffee were amazing. Came back for dinner and honestly was slightly disappointed. Cheburek was tiny and overfried, half empty inside. Pretty much the same with khinkaly. Schnitzel was good, as well as khachapuri, but a bit weird that there's no sides for schnitzel. I want to return for brunch but unfortunately not for dinner. 5 stars - it's for brunch and I hope that I will be able to enjoy evening at the same level one day.“

“My friend and I visited for dinner and drinks, and the service from start to finish was impeccable.

Every staff member was attentive from the moment we stepped foot in the bar. Our glasses were never empty, we never had to wait to place orders, everyone took their job seriously but were always friendly and courteous. Plus: The food was great, and the location is a 30 secondwalk from Rosedale station. I would definitely come back and recommend others to pay a visit.“

“The Paddock has been around for decades and is one of the best dive bars. It was slated to close after Covid but the landlord let them sign a new lease. They made it bigger by knocking out a wall at the back and that is where they have renovated the place to put a stage there for the live music. Prices are not bad, staff are great and the place has a really good feel to it. Glad to see it is staying around for a while longer“

“We had the pleasure of dining at Local 1794 last night with friends. We got seats st the bar table, alot was reserved and got packed closer to dinner time 630-7. So recommend to call ahead. We got Heineken beers, smoked chicken wings, Ibirico pork oven wood pizza, battered calamari and Poutine that was shared amongst us. Food was amazing! Staff are friendly, interior is beautiful and restaurant is clean. Definitely recommend this place.“

“Axis doesn't bill itself as one of the new trendy dive bars, nor does it attempt to be your local Irish pub... But it somehow does both really well.

There are items of food here that are quite remarkable and I mean that in the best of ways.. one of the best seafood pastas in the city, both in terms of value ample portion size and actual seafood.

Drink prices are quite Fair and the locals are friendly enough that if there isn't a table for you solos out there, you're more than welcome to join one“
