“My bestie got me a custom cake and were absolutely blown away by the result! The craftsmanship was stunning, the design was elegant, detailed, and beautifully finished. The branded theme and the adorable golden figure on top were done with such care and precision. It looked even better in person than in photos!

Not only was the cake visually impressive, but it also tasted amazing. The texture was soft and moist, and the flavour was perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. You can tell they use quality ingredients and really put heart into their work~ A beautifully designed and delicious custom cake shop.“

“I came here a week ago for dessert at around 9PM—11PM with a bunch of friends. The portions were fulfilling and were enough to share between two people. Shaved ice was delicious, however, when I tried to play the board games they offered it was sticky and old. Other than the board games, my overtime here was great!“

“I didn't come this restaurant for 10 yrs. I just come to eat Chinese desserts tonight. Surprisingly the dessert are very good. The price is reasonable. I go there at 10:15pm Friday night but the restaurant is full of customers. The customers are keep coming in.
I eat walnut, papaya, black sesome and fry tofu. They are all taste very good. The total is a $29.

“I find this place very good. Especially for Hong Kongers, the quality is even better than Hong Kong. Surprisingly, they serve hot food here as well. In Hong Kong, they only serve dessert, which is at an 5/10 level. But here, the dessert is at an 8/10 standard.The space here is much cozier, as you only have an extremely small space to dine in in Hong Kong.

“Had the chance to try this bakery’s most popular cake. It’s called the Ovaltine Crispy Chiffon Cake. It was light, fluffy and not too sweet. The Rosemary decorations when eaten with the cake, adds another dimension to the taste.
This was purchased by someone in the party I attended recently. I noticed, I was not the only one that enjoyed the cake. Apparently, it was purchased from a bakery where the food court is located.
The owner was quite friendly as I inquired about the bakery. Price $25 as per the bakery’s website. They even provided 1 candle with the cake. Not sure if it was included in the price or not.

“Came here with a friend and we ordered the large size jumbo ube milk shaved ice with taro paste on the side. When we got the ube shaved ice, it was huge. We couldn't even finish it.

All the toppings tasted great and they dont skimp on the toppings at all. I really loved the Ube paste, taro rice balls, almond pudding, and the taro paste.

For about $20 it is definitely worth coming here to satisfy your sweet tooth. This could easily feed 2-3 people. My one minor complaint would be that the shaved ice is not uniformed and there are some big chunks. Chewing on it got tiring and numbing at the end. I do wish they had the korean styled shaved ice where its almost like soft snow texture.“

“So the story goes like this, we were at the park and I was about to buy some ice cream from the truck when my friend turned to me and said save ur money, I’ll take you to a really cool place. We landed up at a super busy plaza so we parked on the street. When we first got there there was no one there but before you know it the place just started getting busy! Well, it being my first time there I asked the girl to bring me whatever is the most popular! I had sticky toffee with custard with a nice cardamom chai! Before you know it, everyone was deep in desert and generously sharing with each other! After that, we all had a round of all kinds of milk chais from masala chai to cardamom they were all excellent! The masala chai for some reason reminded me of pumpkin spice! Everyone was bursting at the seams so we all had a nice walk in the wonderful neighborhood. It was night and it was cool and it was just right! The best part about JC is everything is halal and it will satisfy every sweet tooth! They also have pizzas and wings and things that I can wait to try such as their brownies and waffles!!! Take a friend! Take a relative! Take your mom take ur pop! Spoil them right and Johnny Custard and you will be all right!“

The black sesame ice cream especially was so delicious! 🤤 The portion was good, space was clean and the service was excellent. “Sugar Marmalade is nice place to visit to grab some food or dessert, but service is poor. I went in earlier this week and instantly noticed how crowded and claustrophobic it was. They tried to fit as many tables and chairs as they can in there for seating sake, but it made it very squished and uncomfortable.

After being seated, I realized that they don’t provide you with physical copies of menus here. Instead, you have to scan a QR code in order to order online. Now, my phone didn’t allow me to scan QR codes for a while due to a glitch in the settings, so I couldn’t scan this and see the menu for myself. Luckily I went with my cousin so she did it for the both of us, but if she wasn’t there I would have been stuck. Call me old fashioned but I also just prefer physical menus where I can see all the items at once instead of scrolling forever to get through the whole menu.

I also think the restaurant was too dimly lit for my preference, as the entire restaurant is already painted black, having low lighting on top of that left for very poor visibility. I saw the girls at the table next to our using flashlights when it came time to pay so they could see into their purses.

The food itself was nice. I thoroughly enjoyed the mango pancake with sundae supreme. It was fresh, light and airy - the perfect Asian style dessert. However the deep fried popcorn chicken my cousin got was wayyy too salty. Like it was so. much. salt. Any Asian aunty would have hated it, so be mindful of that if you plan on ordering the dish.

All in all, good deserts and nice place. Maybe try going to a bigger location like the one in Markham as I found that one to be nicer. Worth a visit, but not sure if it’d be the first thing I’d recommend to others or revisit myself.“
