“Yo, this place is off the hook all the other Haitian restaurants in the area be on noticed wow wow wow and wow again. I came here with my son, and we were pleasantly surprised, clean environment. Nice the service was even nicer like beautiful service welcomed you with a smile made you feel good that you actually came to this establishment contrary to another word that wasn’t too far away from it. Needless to say, I’ve never got back to the other spot, but I’m coming back right here, royal prince Caribbean. I like goat, so I had to goat, tender, well marinated. Wow wow wow again I’m definitely coming back“

“We decided to stop in for some barbecue after a day of sports. It was a great choice as the food was fantastic and very flavourful and our server Megan was fantastic. She was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. As for the atmosphere, there are many TVs to keep up with the scores .

“We received a gift card from a family member for $100 USD as a Christmas Present and were excited about enjoying a meal at this restaurant. The gift card was purchased directly from Joey's, not a 3rd party. We went and everything initially about the restaurant was very enjoyable. The food was very good, the service was attentive and we enjoyed our experience until the cheque arrived. When we we presented the gift card (electronically) our server went to speak with a ⁶manager and then returned to inform us that the $100 USD would be honoured in Canadian dollars. $100 USD is worth $144.50 Canadian dollars according to google when checked today. We paid the bill and tipped the service team 22% and left after effectively having $44.50 taken from us and our family member in what felt like to us, theft by conversion. The manager in question did not come to follow up after our expressing our disappointment JOEY's is already a very expensive restaurant. Further, the gift card information indicates that Joey's has US based restaurants. I'm quite sure that Canadian dollar gift cards are not accepted at par in the US. This ruined for us, what was otherwise a positive experience, through what felt like to us, an act of corporate greed and impersonal profiteering. After this experience we will not be back and sadly, I cannot recommend JOEY's as a place for anyone else to dine at. Any company that sells a gift card directly and then fails to deliver full value is patently dishonest, in my opinion.“

“First time visitor on March 23, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant was happily booked up when I tried to make a reservation, so I was only able to secure a table at 5:15pm. I left a little note asking them to keep us in mind if there was a cancellation for a later spot, and they contacted me by email, text, and phone when a later table became available for 6:15pm. Very responsive and friendly staff. Our time at Soif was marvellous. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. Service was relaxed yet very polished. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and took great care to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We had a flight of wine to start, followed by a beautiful bottle of white, and a flight of bubbles to end our evening. We shared a half cheese/half charcuterie platter that came with a mountain of crispy and delicious crostini, the latter being refilled without having to ask. Such a small but lovely touch. We also shared roasted Brussels sprouts, frites and aioli, a bison tartare, and grilled radicchio, that were all delicious. They surprised my friend with a little dessert wine and candle to acknowledge her birthday, which was so kind and thoughtful. I have not a single critique. The team here works like a well-oiled machine. No one seemed frantic or rushed. It was a lovely evening. I (we) will definitely be back. Santé!“

“My family enjoyed a take-out meal last night from Sula Wok. I would describe it as incredibly tasty, evocative flavours, large portion sizes and generally a fantastic gastronomical delight! The chicken samosas were the best I have had anywhere in Ottawa, in short - awesome. The mango-ginger sauce for the samosas was also exceptional. My entrèe was the Tibetan Fried noodles with tofu. The portion was generous and carefully prepared. The spices were delightful, the vegetables were fresh, plentiful and throughout the meal rather than just placed on top. Every bite was delicious. Thank you Sula Wok for the best take-out meal I have enjoyed in years! I highly recommend this restaurant. It definitely deserves a five star rating.“

“I had a lovely experience at Sansotei! The service was quick and friendly. I had the tonkotsu black ramen and the corn croquettes - both were delicious! The ramen broth was rich and full of flavour and the ramen noodles were perfectly al dente. I will definitely be returning the next time I’m in Ottawa.“

“The best scones in town for sure. What a great selection and fair prices for their menu options. It was our first time there and we loved it so much we returned the next day. Staff are so friendly and you do have the option to dine in or take out as well as place orders for future pick up which is what we did for the next day. Definitely a must try. “We made a reservation since the spot is quite small so seating is limited. We got the Wasabi shrimp tempura, friend chicken Ramen and grilled chicken Ramen. The shrimp tempura was amazing. The mango sauce that came with it was delicious. I wanted abit more of the Wasabi flavour in the shrimp tempura but still tastes good. The broth for the Ramen could've been spicier but they do offer chilli oil. The fried chicken was good, no bones. I was not a fan of the grilled chicken though. Overall decent food and the decor inside is dope too.

“Had breakfast with a group of seven. There was a small line when we arrived at 10 am and a longer line after we left at 11:10 am. All of us ordered something different and everything looked so good. Food was fresh, tasty, and portions were huge. Plus food came out rather quickly considering every table was occupied.

Service was excellent. The owner was there talking to customers and helping out. Like he said “this is not a hobby for me.” And it shows. Our server was kind and thoughtful. Someone at our table asked about the sausages and our server brought him one to try. I could write another 2 paragraphs about how good this place is. I will save you the reading just try the place.

Oh and the bathrooms are clean so you know the place is good.“

“soooooo guuuuuuuuuuuuuud!!!I had originally planned to take my friend from Montreal to a pho place I loooove (Pho Tuan) but it was closed for holidays...we met this very cute vietnamese girl living in the area and asked her where to go: she said go to Pho THu Do!!!may the gods bless her soul. We had incredible pho soup and deep fried rolls. I felt love in the 8 hrs simmered broth and it proved me the poetic lines of a Haiku book I read before: The Art of Peace, yes that was it!!!!!!“
