“We visited Citizen back in Feb 2026 and had a good time so this is an overdue review.

The service was excellent and server was very attentive. The restaurant atmosphere was nice, quiet, perfect for a date night.

The food was really good overall but nothing blew me out of this world (except for the panna cotta). The scallop ceviche with Tom yum sauce was good. I appreciate the combination but feels like something is lacking (maybe the lack of acidity from lime that you would normally expected from a south east asian-inspired dish). The rabbit croquette was sooo good and with the great amount of spiciness. Though I feel like the dish is missing something that will bring it to the next level. The ravioli with escargot was surprisingly alright. I love snails and escargot but thought that the flavour was a bit too safe. Quail and pork belly was cooked to perfection, so tender!

The star of the meal has to be the dessert. We got chocolate cake with orange sauce (?) and apple pana cotta. The chocolate was creamy and the tangy sauce is such a good combo but very classic. The apple panna cotta is out of this world. I can dedicate a whole paragraph on how delicious it was! The sweetness is perfect with light airy panna cotta. The apple bits and sauce was soo good and flavorful, combining with crunchy oats. I don't like apple dessert until I had this one. I would give the panna cotta 100/10.

“On average we get take out from Sula Wok once per week. We love the food and the vibe of the place. (Sula and her gang are also very nice to deal with). I really like the traditional Pad Thai. Recently, Sula asked that I try a slightly new version of the dish (apparently less fishy). Sula asked that I let her know if I liked it or not. While I thought the taste was a little different (maybe not as spicy or “fishy”), I still loved it and will be ordering it again.“

I think there has only been one time where service was slow, but she luckily put it on the house since I had to go upstairs (I was seated in the basement with my friends) and grab her attention.

Fortunately, the games are pretty well organized and well-kept; I think every game I've played with my friends has had its pieces mostly in tact.
I also enjoyed the video gaming experience; nitpick: the games have no sound. Not a huge dealbreaker(especially since game sound might negatively add to the pub's noise levels) but just something to know.
Washrooms are great - I believe they are mostly gender neutral? Otherwise, they are at least well cleaned.“

“We received a gift card from a family member for $100 USD as a Christmas Present and were excited about enjoying a meal at this restaurant. The gift card was purchased directly from Joey's, not a 3rd party. We went and everything initially about the restaurant was very enjoyable. The food was very good, the service was attentive and we enjoyed our experience until the cheque arrived. When we we presented the gift card (electronically) our server went to speak with a ⁶manager and then returned to inform us that the $100 USD would be honoured in Canadian dollars. $100 USD is worth $144.50 Canadian dollars according to google when checked today. We paid the bill and tipped the service team 22% and left after effectively having $44.50 taken from us and our family member in what felt like to us, theft by conversion. The manager in question did not come to follow up after our expressing our disappointment JOEY's is already a very expensive restaurant. Further, the gift card information indicates that Joey's has US based restaurants. I'm quite sure that Canadian dollar gift cards are not accepted at par in the US. This ruined for us, what was otherwise a positive experience, through what felt like to us, an act of corporate greed and impersonal profiteering. After this experience we will not be back and sadly, I cannot recommend JOEY's as a place for anyone else to dine at. Any company that sells a gift card directly and then fails to deliver full value is patently dishonest, in my opinion.“

“First time visitor on March 23, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant was happily booked up when I tried to make a reservation, so I was only able to secure a table at 5:15pm. I left a little note asking them to keep us in mind if there was a cancellation for a later spot, and they contacted me by email, text, and phone when a later table became available for 6:15pm. Very responsive and friendly staff. Our time at Soif was marvellous. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. Service was relaxed yet very polished. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and took great care to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We had a flight of wine to start, followed by a beautiful bottle of white, and a flight of bubbles to end our evening. We shared a half cheese/half charcuterie platter that came with a mountain of crispy and delicious crostini, the latter being refilled without having to ask. Such a small but lovely touch. We also shared roasted Brussels sprouts, frites and aioli, a bison tartare, and grilled radicchio, that were all delicious. They surprised my friend with a little dessert wine and candle to acknowledge her birthday, which was so kind and thoughtful. I have not a single critique. “Was fortune enough to get the last seats at the bar during the Habs game on a busy Saturday night.
The food itself was great. The steak and frites was fantastic. The flatbread was amazing, same with the wings and nachos.

What could have been a limited service experience, Taryn absolutely crushed it, with what should have been a night where she has another bartender one with her.
Her attention level was fantastic, while still maintaining her duties for the staff needing drinks for their section, if only the male manager on the floor could have a work ethic that matched and supported.

“We ordered 2 chicken souvlaki plates through Uber Eats and when the order was delivered, there was only 1 plate in the bag. I called the restaurant immediately since the bag had been sealed and not tampered with so it was clear that the restaurant messed up. The restaurant offered to make another plate but unfortunately they don't have their own delivery drivers so we had to drive to them and pick up the other plate. Once we got there, the owner was very apologetic and offered us a free item from their menu and a dessert. This is an example of good customer service. I get that mistakes happen but it's how a business handles their mistakes that makes all the difference.
