“On average we get take out from Sula Wok once per week. We love the food and the vibe of the place. (Sula and her gang are also very nice to deal with). I really like the traditional Pad Thai. Recently, Sula asked that I try a slightly new version of the dish (apparently less fishy). Sula asked that I let her know if I liked it or not. While I thought the taste was a little different (maybe not as spicy or “fishy”), I still loved it and will be ordering it again.“

“Had a fabulous lunch there while visiting family in Ottawa from Nova Scotia over the holidays. I was wearing a Green Bay Packers hoodie as I do, being a fan and shareholder. One of the two guys serving and running the bar gave me a thumbs up and said they were big Packers fan. The food and service was outstanding, and when the bill was presented to our friend as he requested, he was informed that they weren't going to charge for the coffees for the Packers fans, lol. “First time visitor on March 23, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant was happily booked up when I tried to make a reservation, so I was only able to secure a table at 5:15pm. I left a little note asking them to keep us in mind if there was a cancellation for a later spot, and they contacted me by email, text, and phone when a later table became available for 6:15pm. Very responsive and friendly staff. Our time at Soif was marvellous. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. Service was relaxed yet very polished. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and took great care to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We had a flight of wine to start, followed by a beautiful bottle of white, and a flight of bubbles to end our evening. We shared a half cheese/half charcuterie platter that came with a mountain of crispy and delicious crostini, the latter being refilled without having to ask. Such a small but lovely touch. We also shared roasted Brussels sprouts, frites and aioli, a bison tartare, and grilled radicchio, that were all delicious. They surprised my friend with a little dessert wine and candle to acknowledge her birthday, which was so kind and thoughtful. I have not a single critique. The team here works like a well-oiled machine. No one seemed frantic or rushed. It was a lovely evening. I (we) will definitely be back. Santé!“

“Arguable the best pizza I've ever eaten. So good I had to let the owner know. I've tried alot in my lifetime and nothing compared to this spot, its in a bracket of its own.

I tried to buy a coffee cup as a reminder of the spot, I know a coffee cup from a pizza joint, but it was a cool cup. But Eric (the owner) or maybe co-owner, gave me one for free.

As a maritimer visiting ottawa on a work trip, I've heard of the spot and don't get me wrong. I understand people have their views on pizza, but this was light, crust was crispy, and it sit well when picking up a slice.

I tried the deluxe I believe, I wanted to stay on the safe side for a first timer, but I'll definitely be trying more if or when I get the chance to go back.

“We ordered 2 chicken souvlaki plates through Uber Eats and when the order was delivered, there was only 1 plate in the bag. I called the restaurant immediately since the bag had been sealed and not tampered with so it was clear that the restaurant messed up. The restaurant offered to make another plate but unfortunately they don't have their own delivery drivers so we had to drive to them and pick up the other plate. Once we got there, the owner was very apologetic and offered us a free item from their menu and a dessert. This is an example of good customer service. I get that mistakes happen but it's how a business handles their mistakes that makes all the difference. This was handled very well, in my opinion and we will order from Oh My Grill again in the future. By the way, the food was excellent! I have to take the review down to 4 stars because of the fact that we had to drive to pick up the corrected order but otherwise it would have been 5 stars.“

“I’ve been coming here at least monthly for the last few years. I’ve introduced so many of my friends and family to this place because it’s absolutely incredible. The food is delicious, the portions are huge and the price is even better! They have the best wonton soup I’ve ever had, and their dry peanut noodles with beef is also amazing. Everything is made by hand and fresh to order too and it reflects in the taste and quality.“

“’ve been a fan of Sansotei for years, and this Merivale location continues that same reliable, comforting experience I’ve come to expect. Everything here is consistently good—from the broth to the noodles to the toppings—and it matches the quality I’ve enjoyed at their Toronto locations as well.

My “home base” will always be the Sansotei on Bank Street, right next to my office building. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve slipped in during lunch for a quick bowl that resets the whole day. This Merivale spot carries that same warmth and consistency, which is why it’s so easy to recommend.

“We received a gift card from a family member for $100 USD as a Christmas Present and were excited about enjoying a meal at this restaurant. The gift card was purchased directly from Joey's, not a 3rd party. We went and everything initially about the restaurant was very enjoyable. The food was very good, the service was attentive and we enjoyed our experience until the cheque arrived. When we we presented the gift card (electronically) our server went to speak with a ⁶manager and then returned to inform us that the $100 USD would be honoured in Canadian dollars. $100 USD is worth $144.50 Canadian dollars according to google when checked today. We paid the bill and tipped the service team 22% and left after effectively having $44.50 taken from us and our family member in what felt like to us, theft by conversion. The manager in question did not come to follow up after our expressing our disappointment JOEY's is already a very expensive restaurant. Further, the gift card information indicates that Joey's has US based restaurants. I'm quite sure that Canadian dollar gift cards are not accepted at par in the US. This ruined for us, what was otherwise a positive experience, through what felt like to us, an act of corporate greed and impersonal profiteering. After this experience we will not be back and sadly, I cannot recommend JOEY's as a place for anyone else to dine at. Any company that sells a gift card directly and then fails to deliver full value is patently dishonest, in my opinion.“
