“Went to this place to have a dinner with my friend. We had calamari to start, and for our mains we ordered la vodka pasta with chicken, and a bifana sandwich. The food was really good, the pasta I ate was cooked well, and the chicken I had was nice and juicy. My friend enjoyed her sandwich, very much. The service was very nice and our food came out quickly. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!“

“Having moved to the area, haven’t had any chances to explore other Portuguese spots so gave this one a try after it was recommended on Reddit.

Some reviews seemed iffy in terms of the service provided, luckily the service we received was amazing I think the waiters name was Johnny.

I got the double leg chicken with vegetables and roasted potatoes, my gf got the breast with rice and fries.

The chickens were large, juicy, well cooked and not dry at all. The peri peri sauce was delicious however it may have been too oil based and it was struggling to coat the chicken and mostly dripped right off.
The vegetables were a bland but some peri peri sauce helped a bit with that and the roasted potatoes were well seasoned.

The rice was dry and a bit hard so may not get that next time, the fries were good.

We got the egg tart as a dessert and I must say it was phenomenal. The pastry was very thin but had a great crisp, custard was light but full of flavour and they coated some Cinnamon on top which was a nice tart. One of the best egg tarts I’ve had in the city!

Having been to Lisbon and Porto last year I’ve been trying to find an egg tart just as good, this is the closest I’ve found so far.“

“Uptown Churrasqueira is a nice place to eat. They serve yummy chicken and fresh veggies. The chicken was a little cold, and they could have used more sauce (I asked for extra sauce), but it was still cooked well. The veggies were really fresh and tasty. There isn’t a lot of seating, so be prepared to take it on the go!I think it's a good spot to grab a bite, so I would give it five stars. You might want to try it if you're in the mood for some tasty chicken and veggies.I will add though, the area is hard to get in and out of due to the Finch traffic, but if you’re willing to brave it, then you’ve got a good chance at enjoying this place the same way that I did.“

“Found this restaurant yesterday after an appointment at Humber River hospital . We enjoyed half chicken dinners accompanied by Rice potatoes and Salad . The chicken was cooked on the grill to perfection .The salad was simple but delicious . It felt like a warm home cookjed meal on a cold winters day . “I went to Gallos after work one day for the very first time. I got recommended by family to check them out. I didn’t realize they were closing up and I couldn't believe how kind the owner was who stayed open just to accommodate and wait for me to get there. Loris was so kind to me and made my first time trying gallos so special. He treated me like a part of the family and his mom was so sweet as well. The food was amazing and I loved the chicken, the rice and potato’s. We will definitely go back for the food as we loved it! He even sent me home with some delicious tarts. Thank you Loris for treating us with such kindness. I absolutely loved the food and enjoyed every bite!“
