“I use to live around the corner from this bagel shop (20+ years ago) - and I, to this day, make a monthly drive to this location. I've been to the location in the market and the location in thornhill - this by far is the BEST location! As a former Montrealer - I'd like to think i know a thing or two about bagels. These are as authentic as the bagels in Montreal - I will go so far as to say even better.
This location specifically is consistent in their quality, service and assortment of goodies. I've purchased both fresh and day old bagels (usually on sale - buy 6, get six free) - they freeze very well.
Their pre- made egg/tuna little tea sandwiches are the bomb! Their flavoured cream cheese (dill or chive) are also amazing! The service is always courteous and prompt. Parking is a little bit of a challenge- but I can usually find a spot on one of the neighboring side streets for free.
So worth the monthly drive from Vaughan!“

“Great bagels, sandwiches and yummy omelettes. Wonderful people run this spot. A true family restaurant that has been on the Eglinton strip for 16 years. Service is caring and personal. Go there!“

“My mom had to get an x-ray today and after she was finished, she decided that we both go to the Happy Bagel Bakery and it was such a delight. We both had lux and cream cheese sandwiches, along with a cherry danish and I even had a caramilk milkshake for the very first time! In addition, when we spent a certain amount of money which was something like $30.00 dollars, we were given an additional of six (6) bagels for Free! What a Great Deal! Furthermore, the food was Good too! Thank you mom for Taking us There! Sincerely yours, Howard Paul Shore Helene Shore Happy Bagel Bakery Customers /HPS /HS“

“Went to bakery, not the restaurant. Bagels are always good but everything is very crammed. They don't label their breads so it's a guessing game. It was busy when we were there and there is only one check out. None of this is the staff's fault.“

“Pitiful breakfast bagel sandwich. Good breakfast sandwiches on NYC bagels is just as quintessential as lox & cream cheese.... but you won't find it here.
I was supremely disappointed with the sausage breakfast sandwich. It had the tiniest, thinnest piece of cheese that was basically negligible -- absolutely pitiful! Timmies gives you more cheese and charges half the price. Come on guys!?!? It's pathetic.
And the sausage was wayyy too small for the bagel - it was only on half the sandwich. The egg was nice.
But their bagels are quite good - they're NYC-style bagels (not-MTL) and are better than I expected (as die hard MTL bagel lover). They're crisp on the outside and veryyyy light and fluffy on the inside (and very slightly sweet, incorporating that touch of MTL-style). Delicious!
Staff were super friendly, pleasant and helpful!“

“This institution is a well-oiled bagel producing machine! I always get their sesame or everything bagels, but sometimes will grab a bag of pizza bagels (amazing warmed up in the toaster oven/airfryer) or their flat bagels to get maximum crusty surface area! Can’t recommend them enough!“

“Love this family owned bagel spot! I’ve had amazing customer service every time I’ve visited. The bagels are always fresh, and the bakery products are consistently amazing. It’s clear they care about quality and their customers. I’ll definitely continue to be a regular and highly recommend this place to everyone!“

“Pros: Ended up skipping Gryffes bagels to come here because they accept my credit card. Bagels were delicious and they made me and my payment choice welcome! Looks family friendly with kids booster seats. Cons: Stairs steep to bathroom so watch your step.“

“They have excellent bagels here. This is what you should come here for as they are absolutely delicious. No doubt some of the best in the downtown core.
However, I personally wouldn't order the soup or salad here again. The Caesar salad was not good, and the soup is straight from a can.
I can think of a few soup recipes that would actually be possible to prepare in that small space, in virtually no time, without a lot of ingredients, and without a stovetop.“

“If you haven't had Bubby's New York Bagels, you're missing out!! Must try Bagel Shop! My favourite spot in Toronto for fresh bagels and breakfast pastries. I don't know how they make the bagels as good as they do, but I love them for doing it! The cinnamon buns are so massive and delicious its incredible. I recenlty did a breakfast catering order and people were literally running to the table becasue of how good the pastries looked! And then they ran back twice as fast when they tasted how good they were! Can't wait to order again!“

“I went today, owner was so nice. She let me try some items, so yummy. I will be making trips often. I bought ravioli, gnocchi, pizza crust, focaccia, bagels and flour so I can make my own French crepes and custard this weekend. Pierangela the owner was so interested in what needs I had regarding being gf and explained how to prepare all the items I bought in detail. I highly recommend making a trip to Nate’s, you won’t be disappointed.“
“Got a Too Good to Go order and they gave me 18 bagels (and a chocolate chip cookie), the value for money is insane, I just finished the bag yesterday. Even after 2 weeks, the bagels still tasted great and my family loved them. I'm gonna keep an eye out for more TGTG bags in the future, would definitely come back.“

“Old Bagel House is a hidden gem and a true neighborhood staple. I love places where you can just grab a really good breakfast and go — and this one nails that vibe perfectly. It has a traditional, homemade feel that makes it stand out from chain spots.
The bagel breakfasts and knishes are incredibly satisfying — fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. It’s the kind of spot that quietly becomes part of your routine. If they ever added an espresso machine, it would take things to the next level, but even as it stands, this place is one of my all-time favourites.
Highly recommend it if you’re in the area and want something authentic and quick.“

“It was delicious! They make awesome sandwiches. Unfortunately I had to remove one star because I thought the sandwich was too small for $10, it was just a regular size. I would have expected the sandwich to be bigger for that price, as I was still hungry after eating it. However the flavours were fantastic.“

“Although not designed necessarily for this, What a bagel is my local coffee shop. Why? Because they have better and cheaper coffee (Illy ) than Starbucks, and the staff are all amazing. Especially the hardworking ladies at the front, who graciously smile and serve each customer (even, sadly, the rude ones!). Their breads and bagels are delicious and fresh, and breakfast or brunch is terrific. Highly recommended. From: the guy who always sits and has his coffee on the bench!“

“Amber is a cozy spot sitting indoors or outdoors. Their matcha is premium quality and they make their own in house pure strawberry syrup for a strawberry matcha latte so you know it isn’t just full of sugar. The hot matcha latte is also really nice.
We like our lattes with oat milk and no sweetener. With excellent coffee and match the sweetness isn’t needed.
Every server here is so kind and attentive. We always feel really taken care during our Sunday coffee/tea dates.“

“This is not a full bagel shop, but a small store with no seating. Worse than that, I asked for the lox sandwich with wheat bagel and all the veggies and I received a poppy seed bagel with no veggies. Go here at your own risk. If you don’t care, perfect!“

“Every bite is perfection—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. You can tell they’re made with love and care and the taste of an everything bagel with jalapeno cream cheese is just perfection! They have all kinds of bagels you needs with so many different cream cheese options to choose from.
The couple who work here are warm, welcoming, and always ready with a smile. You can see how hard they work and how much love and effort they put into the food they serve. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re seriously missing out. This place is a local gem and worth every visit! Highly recommend you check it out! 🥯✨“

“There is no other bagel you need to eat in the GTA. None. Primrose continues to nail the perfect texture and taste, and their commitment to perfection is amiable. Every time I go I buy extra to share with friends and family and convert them to the Primrose way. They are always happy. This is the way.“
