“Favi was a pleasure to work with. I had previously ordered a cake last year for a birthday and although it was an odd request she made it perfectly. When looking for cake vendors for our wedding in was a no brainer to go with Favi. The least stressful part of planning a wedding is the cake testing and boy was it the best.

We decided to go with a 3 tier cake and during the consultation we made some changes. Ultimately it came out beautiful and it tasted delicious! Seriously, I am not a cake person but every single cake + dessert that favi makes is incredible. My friends and family raved about how good it was!

If you're looking for desserts for your next event, the hunt stops now. Favi knows what she is doing, and it will come out looking like the cake of your dreams. Their anpan and melonpan are perfect representations of tradition, while the edamame curry donuts are great twists for vegans.“

“This tiny Mexican bakery is astoundingly good. The owners, a husband and wife team, are both friendly and love to talk about their products. As a chef, I appreciate good food and the knowledge of food preparation and both of them have that. Further, her brownie is absolutely the best I’ve had and I’ve made hundreds of them. A great local place to treat yourself.“

“Usually love this place. The only issue is they are frequently out of flavors. Went yesterday and was told to wait 30 for the flavor I wanted. Waited 30. Then they said it was going to be another 30 when I came back. We left with no cookies and went to menchie's Nextdoor instead. Also they are closed on Sundays which is a very popular day to get treats. That part stinks big time.“

Seasonal summer shrimp roll and fall Bacon Lettuce Tomato sandwich are both divine.

Pastries can be so so: croissant and pecan pull apart good, jammer and coffee cake are not good.“

“I ordered the Minnie Mouse cake for my daughter’s 51st birthday. It looked just like the picture, however, the cake tasted delicious! The buttercream frosting was also terrific. Sometimes there is so much on the cake it over powers the taste of the cake. The wait staff and some customers at the restaurant wanted to know where we got the cake from. So we told them. Thank you Cake It for helping me make my daughter’s birthday and her feel very special.“

“I love how quick they are for curbside pickup! I ordered at 8am and was there picking up by 8:20! I have not tried this week's flavors yet- they look amazing But sharing is a definite in my house so I'll have to wait to try them!!“

Her cakes are absolutely delicious (the best I’ve had in my entire life) and she brought the vision of our wedding cake to life beautifully. Her flavors are rich, the cake is moist, and her frosting balances out everything so well. We had the hardest time deciding on our wedding cake flavor because every sample she provided us was THAT good!! You cannot go wrong with Jen for any of your baked good needs. “What a great find! The store is very very clean and well stocked. They got a wonderful bakery that has just the right amount of options. They have a very small meet/butcher section, and almost no diet sodas, out of all of the drinks.

The produce section is well stocked, and they have lots and lots of snacks and treats and Mexican goodies.“

“This place holds a special place in my heart. My daughter and I watched Chopped and one day after a long, hard appointment we were walking and talking and found this bakery. It’s been a go to place for us to connect and talk over the years. Fast forward my husband took me on a first date to learn how to bake macarons. You all did my wedding cakes/treats. I get something special from you guys for every event in our lives. Recently my mother had some health concerns and underwent radiation. Loss of appetite, pain, over all crappy. One day I brought her a short bread toffee pastry. She LOVED IT! Since then she craves them. It was the only thing she was able to eat or wanted to eat. I went in one day to buy her a few and they were sold out . They kindly told me that I could come back tomorrow and they would save me some. I arrived the next day to a FRESH Box of special created toffee shortbread. Sold to me at a discount and wrote on the box. The kindness and compassion you showed my family and I was unreal. My two year old had so much fun decorating, and I didn't have to bake/prep anything. And the cookies were DELICIOUS!! I'm looking forward to getting more in the future.“

“The only powdered chocolate cream donuts anywhere in town (and I've checked), just the way Winchell's used to make them: absolute perfection! The other donuts are incredible, too, but the powdered with the poof of chocolate icing is my go-to 4 LIFE! When my husband and I journey 25+ miles to a Sesame Donuts and our box of donuts is in our car, I may spontaneously serenade my donuts. When it arrived two days later, I was surprised and delighted to find they'd included an extra package. Customer service like this is so rare these days!“

“Like all great places they don’t stay the “hidden gems” long. It was bustling. We had to wait for a table and felt like we needed to eat quick to give others a place to sit. Coffee was good, tea wasn’t memorable. However, the food was very tasty and unique. I would go baked for any of the backed goods. So delicious!!“

“The food is was great just a little stale but maybe it was because I went at 2:00 pm so I am not blaming them also the people were really nice so i liked that. When I asked them a question the were very nice about it and i just ate the donuts because there donuts are just generally good. All in all it was a fine sesame donuts i mean I will go there again for there donuts.“

“A tale of 2 breakfasts...
We were on our way here and someone just couldn't wait so we stopped at a Wendy's for a breakfast: egg and cheese biscuit sandwich and seasoned potatoes. Kid was still dissatisfied so tried some of the lifeless food. Plain, boring, even with a fresh cooked egg.

Contrast that with my egg and cheese bolo here - freshly butter grill roasted roll, tender egg, American cheese that had a little zing!

GCB also excels at bread making, we can barely keep a sour rye loaf a week in our house. If you see Como at Fred Meyer or Market of Choice or another store, give it a try. The nicest non-sourdough white bread I've had.

Many local restaurants work with GCB wholesale and I can see why.

This Cafe is nice with lots of indoor and outdoor seating, gender neutral and accessible restrooms and a wheelchair friendly height counter and pastry case. The parking lot is free but read the signs carefully as only part of it is. Downtown Hillsboro can have available free street parking too, subject to a busy courthouse or downtown events.“

“Their esspresso drinks are only okay, everything else has been consistently lovely. There have been pastries I tried and didn't like but they were in the minority and it was worth trying new things. The seating areas are slightly crowded.
But man these pastries are worth every peny.
I liked their matcha, and I'm fairly picky about matcha.“

“This is our go-to donut shop! Seriously the best traditional donuts. Always perfectly fried. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Their fritters are one of my favorites! “Whent to Panadería el jarochito, It's a little nuke in the wall bakery. I went there to get a couple of (Mexican Pan Dulce) To my surprise, they were quite cheap.The regular ones are ($1.25).The ones with filling are ($1.75).I also ended up getting 2 slices of cake that they had there (mil ojas & 3 leches) Each costing ($4).Would recommend coming here and getting a couple pieces of sweet mexican bread.

“Was waiting in line and watched two ladies harass the worker today around 3:00.
People need to quit harassing customer service workers then being surprised everywhere is short staffed.
Really like this store and the people who run it are always friendly especially the manager.“

“I recently ordered a birthday cake from The Hungry Hero Dessert, its look and taste was amazing.
Additionally, I am incredibly impressed with their exceptional customer service. I was stuck in work and unable to pick up the cake during their regular hours. To my surprise and immense relief, the team( forgot to ask the name)went above and beyond by staying open after hours to accommodate my schedule.
Definitely be going back for future celebrations.“
