“Appreciate the ability to reserve a table...especially on a nice day. Salad was fresh and enjoyed the whole green olives. Several fun board options but with they came with fresh fruit. The best thing we ate was the melted birdie and honey app. So delicious. Tuxedo cake was a little fudgy but still good. Red wines were solid with thw standout being the Maeli 2021.“

Observed that most of staff looked unenthusiastic and very few smiling—including the manager who was dressed like a lumberjack. (A bit weird for what is being touted as a “French restaurant.”). “Twice now I’ve eaten at Ox. I came back for the Clam Chowder with Smoked Bone Marrow as it left such a lasting impression. This time, we tried the Skirt Steak with the Radicchio & Romaine Salad. It was a 10/10! Most excellent meal. We also sat at the grille where all the steaks and chops were being prepared, and we loved feeling part of the process. Can't wait to bring family!“

Great crust that's a blend of crispy but soft under the immediate toppings so when you eat it the temp is what wrecks the top of your mouth but then you don't chop it up with the too crisp crust shards. Sauce is lovely, hint of orange. Quality cut meats and veggies. Come here and eat this pie.“

“So, I went to this place called Forte Portland just to check it out. I ended up getting a coffee, but it was completely silent in there. Not a single person was around, which was kind of relaxing, I guess. There's a piano there, but no one was playing it. And get this, the person working the counter was practically asleep when I walked up. I'm guessing it's not exactly a popular place during the day. Maybe it turns into a nice bar or something later at night.“

I have had several roles in the wine industry, including as a tasting room manager and wine educator, so am particularly sensitive to quality service and the educational component at tasting rooms. Shout out to Hayden, who was engaging, knowledgeable, and kept a perfect pace for pouring the flight, allowing us enough time to sip and savor while not leaving us waiting, even though it was busy. Not only was the service great, every wine I had was impressive. They were well-made, balanced in flavor and structure, and expressive of Washington while paying respectful homage to their famous European counterparts like Super Tuscans, Bordeaux, and the Rhone. I highly recommend Brian Carter Cellars for great Washington wine and a great tasting experience in a beautiful waterfront setting.“

“I had a fantastic experience here. The Vietnamese food was delicious (especially the peppery spring roll) but the service I received from Davey made it really outstanding. He curated a really well chosen wine flight & his wine and food recommendations were superb. He even took the time to wish me safe travels at the end of his shift. “If you are a wine connoisseur this is quite the find. It's a tiny shop located out of the way but their selection of wines is good and their prices are very competitive. The two owners are there almost all of the time... Easy going and good conversationalist. You won't want to miss this one.“

“I stopped by this place on a week day afternoon, and Stefan was very welcoming. I'm not super knowledgeable on the different types and flavor profiles, and he helped me choose some really nice wines. The overall vibe was very unpretentious and comfortable, and the conversation with Stefan was interesting. I got to learn a little bit about the different wines and production processes while I sipped. The Willamette Valley 2024 Pinot Noir was my favorite as someone that prefers red wines, but I was really surprised how much I ended up liking the white pinot noir. Definitely worth a visit!“

My music-snob date enjoyed the tunes, and I enjoyed the romantic lighting, great wine, and variety of seating options (private spots, window seats, tucked-away tables, bar seating). Love that it's not just one big room. Bathroom was clean. Bartender was kind and low-key. 10/10.“
