“We recently moved to Eagle Point, and yesterday, I was on a mission for a new breakfast spot. A quick Google search for “breakfast near me” tossed up a wildcard. It required a bit of a trek, but since I’d never been to Butte Falls, I figured, why not?

Twenty-five minutes later—after a scenic, over-the-river-and-through-the-woods cruise—I rolled into the thriving logging metropolis of Butte Falls. (Pro-tip: Don't blink, or you’ll miss the whole town).

Right on Broad Street sits the Sugar Pine Cafe, which I'm convinced is the official town headquarters. Melissa greeted me at the door with an awesome, lively welcome. For about five minutes, I had the cozy diner entirely to myself before the locals started ambling in.

The reviews had raved about their burgers, so I decided to test the kitchen with a custom breakfast mashup: a burger topped with bacon and an over-easy egg, a side of crispy hash browns topped with gravy, and a hot coffee.

The service was top-notch, and the food was absolute perfection. The beef patty was so thick I practically had to unhinge my jaw like a python just to take a bite, but it was worth every single calorie. I’d order it again in a heartbeat, though I definitely want to explore the rest of the menu.
