“We arrived shortly before closing, and we were still welcomed. The food, the decor, and the atmosphere was superb. Fresh, local ingredients are combined in surprisingly creative and delicious ways. We started with a Last Word Sour, and it was one of best cocktails I have ever had. The burrata, heirloom tomato, and nasturtium tartine was exponentially more flavorful than we imagined, as was every other dish that followed. The dish with panisse was delicious and well-balanced, the tomato sauce on the rigatoni was so bright and fresh, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. We finished our meal with a lemon semi-freddo, and it was combined with a corn-based crumble that was shockingly delicious. Thank you, Lion & Owl for a memorable meal!! 10/10!!“

“Had an excellent lunch today at Cornucopia in Eugene, our first time there. I had the Jero's Smoked Bacon Cheese Burger with Gouda cheese on it. Very delicious, juicy combination of flavors and cooked perfectly. My husband and I split our sides. The fries were wonderful, hot, coated and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. My husband had the American Cheese Burger with Swiss which he said was great too. He ordered the coleslaw and it was just the way we like it... not too sweet, not too tart. The service was also wonderful. We sat outside with our little Dachshund and our server was right on top of it. Would highly recommend them! (The only downside was the price. Expect to pay $20 for a burger, $20-30 for anything more than that. I know, everything's gone up, but it's still a shock.)“

“This is my new favorite restaurant! I have a dairy allergy and almost cried when I realized that I could actually order biscuits and gravy, french toast, and even nachos off of their regular menu. If you have a special dietary need, tell them and the staff is so understanding. They have amazing vegan pastries. The vegan chocolate croissants are to die for! I live two hours away, but will return to Eugene again and again to try everything on their menu.“

“This is the second time I’ve been to Acorn Cafe. It was equally as delicious today. Brought my daughter and we shared the biscuits & gravy and waffles. So much food and extremely delicious. We also ordered the lavender lemon soda and Hawaiian Haze mocktail and they were super tasty and refreshing. Acorn has a lovely ambiance and the service was friendly. They don’t accept tips for themselves but pay it forward instead to folks less fortunate. Well worth supporting! Looking forward to going back and trying everything.“

This makes me a little picky about strange things like, employee retention, a love and involvement from owners, a mutual respect among employees, excellence in service, attention to details. Last but not least- knowing their customers- how they like how what when and where is remembered and held somewhat sacred. Being a regular here is being part of a family as staff or clientele. As long as I have breath in my body and they will have me I will host a show here for my own sanity and well being. More places should pay attention to how these people do business on all ends. With crispy and juicy shredded pork, ham, cheese and pickles squished to deliciousness. And the perfect amout of mustard... the mustard is what makes it for me! With a side kale ceasar, a perfect pairing. Hubby had the Ruben, with house made pastrami and saurkrawt. Not too sour, on a marbled rye. He loved it. Son had a grilled chicken club with parmesagn garlic fries. Another win! We all drank their homemade ginger ale and root beer.“

“We attended the 50 YEAR REUNION FOR SOUTH EUGENE HIGH SCHOOL.My husband Andy Young was in the class of 1975!! Its a nice place. Roomy and spacious for all the folks that were there!!! Staff was friendly, Bartenders made delicious strong drinks and it was the perfect place for the 1st night of a 3 day reunion!! Everybody was happy to see each other and we had a great time...Oh if you only knew the stories some of these people told about the golf club and the houses around there!! The dining area was unique and very clean. We sat down stairs near the fish aquarium. I look forward to going again. It's only an hour 30 from home so it will be a nice treat when I do.“
