“My family and I are locals and frequent your restaurant often. We truly enjoy your establishment and want to start by saying we recognize how difficult it is to find and retain good employees these days. We’ve seen many staff members come and go over the years, and we genuinely appreciate the efforts of your current manager (I’m not sure of her name) — she seems to be doing a great job trying to turn things around since COVID. We also remember Becca fondly, as she was wonderful, and there are currently a few employees who consistently provide excellent service.

That said, I wanted to share some ongoing concerns regarding one particular server, Jacob D. This feedback isn’t meant to be unkind, but rather to highlight areas where additional training or support may be needed.

Over multiple visits, we’ve experienced repeated issues such as:
• Orders being incorrect (regular fries served instead of Cajun, Cajun tots replaced with fries, tomato on a burger when requested without).
• Condiments being incorrect (ketchup requested, ranch delivered).
• A split burger order being confused with a single burger order.
• Very long wait times before being greeted or offered water (around 25 minutes during a slow evening).
• Empty water glasses not being refilled, even when clearly visible.
• Appetizers and food taking extended periods despite the restaurant being nearly empty.
• A general lack of awareness of guest needs, such as checking in, offering refills, or asking if we’re ready to order.

We understand that some issues can originate in the kitchen, and we also notice a difference in consistency between weekday and weekend service. However, many of these concerns seem to stem from attentiveness and situational awareness rather than attitude — Jacob is not rude, but appears to struggle with basic customer service flow.

We genuinely like your restaurant and want to continue coming back. Our hope in sharing this is that it may help improve consistency and overall guest experience. With some additional training, or perhaps placing him in a support role better suited to his strengths, we believe service could greatly improve.

“The Bistro is more than a fabulous restaurant from the wine selection to the main dish, desserts, and after dinner liqueur. The service we received from Trihn was amazing from beginning to end. The live acoustic Guitar performance by Wes who had played there for years was relaxing and perfect for the relaxing evening my friend Lisa and I needed the other night. But Jack the owner and creator of this wonderful Bistro ended our evening sharing with us both his life story and path that got him to where he is today, including sharing samples of amazing herbal after dinner liqueurs I have never heard of. We had the best time ever. Cannon beach is one of our favorite getaway destinations and the Bistro a restaurant that is in its own class of excellence that I hope everyone who goes to Cannon beach to getaway has the opportunity to experience. We feel blessed to have had the incredible evening we had.“

“We eat at Norma’s at least once every time we visit Seaside. Try it you’ll like it.“

“As an airline crew member, I flew to China, mostly Beijing, for 28 years straight. Candy and the staff at New Garden provide the most delicious and authentic Chinese food I’ve had in the states. It is a ritual of dining I savor.“

“My favorite Thai food in town. The owners are wonderful and the food is the best. some of my favorites are Drunken Noodle, Curry, Pinneapple fried rice, Stir fried Cashew Chicken, oh all of it! All items are TASTY! Just go and taste! To top it all off, the prices are very reasonable.“

“Thai Thai Fusion has been my go to place for comfort food and I am never disappointed. Bad day at work, feeling under the weather or blue, this place always picks my spirits up and leaves me happy and full. They also treat my daughter great. She gives it 5 stars for the staff I give it full starts for food staff and atmosphere:) check it out.“

I visited Oregon in 2023 and stumbled in this place when we visited Cannon Beach and everything else on the main strip was pretty much closed. My husband and I got the last two seats at the bar and loved the food. The service was super friendly and I had the best marionberry cocktail, I still think about it to this day.

When we found out we were coming back to Portland for a wedding, I knew I had make the trip back out to Cannon Beach for this place. And what do you know, it was just as perfect the second time. As mentioned, it’s a super small restaurant. My party of 3 this time waited maybe 10-15 minutes outside. The one server was super friendly, gave great recommendations and was very friendly with the rest of the restaurant goers.

Last time I got the nachos, this time I got the dirty fries and I’d recommend either dish! This place is just a tad off the main street, but so worth your visit! I hope I get to come back again.“

“This place is the best lunch or casual dinner place I've been to. The food was absolutely amazing. Made in house pizza, burgers, wraps, and more. The salad bar has the best options for any salad lover or not. Prices are great, about a 1/3rd less than anywhere else for the same meal. They have pizza hat and ready on the pizza bar. The staff were some of the best also, great attitudes and helpful. Wish it was closer to home, it would be a regular spot for me!!“

“Had their Basil fried Rice and it was delicious clean and authentic! My Son had their Sushi rolls and they all were so amazing! The service was fantastic, very friendly and right there to check on us. The place was clean and very soothing atmosphere! Would recommend!“

“If you’re home sick, COME IN! Came in while my wife was shopping with my son, and they were very kind and accommodating for me, and my little one. They gave him juice( on the house ), and had games and football on. Great win for any husband looking to kill time while their wives shop!“

“We were in Seaside this weekend for a dance competition, and happened in to Angelina’s Pizzeria and Cafe on our last night in town. We came in about 7:45pm. The server, Dakota, was great and so patient with us. We ordered our food, and shortly after placing our order realized we needed to have something added, to go. Dakota said no problem. He brought out our food - an individual margarita pizza, an Italian beef sandwich, and an order of chicken wings. He told us then that the pizza we’d ordered to go, he’d put under the warmer so jr would stay hot for us until we were ready to leave. The Italian Beef sandwich was made on a delicious herbed focaccia bread. There was SO much flavor in the bread. The outside was crisp, but not overly crisp, while the inside stayed soft. It was delicious. The wings were crispy. The margarita pizza was delicious too. 10/10 recommend for both the food AND the service!“

“Better service here than pelican bay! I was surprised they didn’t require us to sit forever like pelican bay even though that location had open tables but you couldn’t sit. Staff was very friendly and attentive.“

“Today we stopped by this bar while driving thru sea side. It was recommended to try the tuna steak sandwich and boy it did not disappoint! Fresh tuna, homemade French fries and cold beer can be found at this location! Lisa was our bartender and server. She was so welcoming and provided fast service. Overall I am so impressed with this little bar set on the side of the highway! I will be back for that tuna sandwich in the future!“

“I’m a Thai food snob and was admittedly skeptical, as I’ve had so much bad Thai food when traveling. This was some of the best Thai cuisine I’ve ever had! It was authentic and absolutely delicious. Everything was spot on, down to the sauces on the side. We had 5 dishes amongst our group (all regular Thai food diners) and everyone agreed. Will definitely be back during our weeks stay! (We had takeout, but the restaurant itself is inviting, a little quirky, and overall charming.)“

“We actually wanted to have breakfast elsewhere but due to the crowd, chose to be here, and found their food so yummy ! I ordered eggs, potatoes and toast. My wife ordered mashroom omelets. Food was very delicious and perfect. However, their latte was pretty average.

But the thing that stands out is, the staffs— they are always smiling, and going out of their ways to help customers.“

“My wife and I were visiting for a few days and when asking for great seafood restaurants in town we were directed by numerous locals to Dooger’s… and we were not disappointed! My wife ordered the Dungeness Crab Louis salad which was loaded with fresh local crab at a very reasonable price! Great salad and nicely presented. I ordered the fresh pan fried Oysters Cajun style and they literally melted in my mouth! Probably the best oysters I’ve ever had…wow! Our server Jacob was super cool and made us feel comfortable and welcome. A real pro with perfect service! We will be back when we are in Seaside again! “I grew up in Oregon and would come to Seaside all the time growing up. Since then I moved away to Illinois. I just came back for a family members funeral and decided while I was here I would take my son to the beach. I could smell the delicious food blocks away & knew we needed to eat our dinner there.
