So we did a take out. The ambience and smell of the place really stood out. We got Funghi and Margherita and both of them was really good. Personally I liked Funghi, my date probably kept deciding till her last bite what she liked more.

“Pyro Pizza is actually insane: they have a whole brick/wood-fired oven in the back of the food cart so you know it's legit. They specialize in personal-sized pizzas so it's pretty great for sharing and trying the different toppings they have to offer. I also have to shout out the drink selection, since their supplier somehow managed to make a clear cola that tastes just like what you'd expect something like Coke or Pepsi to taste like, but with no artificial stuff. We came here after a recommendation from our tour guide, Ana, over at Around Portland tours nearby and were super happy with the results!“

“Scottie's is the best NY style pizza in Portland. They also sell it by the slice. The crust, sauce, toppings, and the ratio of all three is so perfect, and it's always cooked perfectly, too- foldable but sturdy, thin slices, little pepperoni cups that curl at the edges and hold a teeny bit of oil, cheese with just a liiiittle bit of browning without being rubbery. Don't expect to sit down- there are only two tiny tables that are usually taken by folks waiting for their pizzas. They're usually busy for a reason.“

“This a great cozy spot with good pizza at a reasonable price. The thin crust is crispy and tasty - i like that you can request a level of doneness if you prefer extra crispy! The sauce is my favorite part i think and all around quality ingredients and toppings. The owners are super nice. It has because a favorite spot and we look forward to checking out the patio when nice weather season returns! Salads and breadsticks are also tasty with generous portions and reasonable prices in a landscape of very pricey pizza spots.“

Since then I have also tried and love their burgers and fries--simple ingredients, but they must be high-quality because the end result is exceptional--and their calzones, with the Chicken Bacon Ranch as the best one so far. I've been a customer here since their opening roughly one year ago and have watched their operations improve over time. I look forward to trying their pastas once those get added to the menu!“

Your pizza may (no promises) be done in 15. They are fast workers, but give themselves a leeway in case if something happens. Remember that you are not the only one ordering pizza. And to be patient when they are overwhelmed with people's last-minute orders.

I've lived in Oregon 50 years and it's the best I've found (except for the wood fired oven of The Bread Board in Falls City); have visited over 50 pizza parlors rated highly thru-out Oregon. “This is a pretty neat and family friendly place to go for some wood fired pizzas. It's located in the central eastside near OMSI. You can enjoy your meal in a restored train car. We ordered a few pizzas to share - pepperoni, pineapple express, and wood-fired mushroom. We also had a pepperoni garlic cheese bread with Caesar salad as well as some wood fired hazelnuts. The pizzas were well made with the crust having the right amount of chewiness to it. The mushroom pizza was my favorite of the three. The only bad part is that when we wanted more pizzas, the staff told us that they ran out of pizzas, which was a bummer.“
