New American Restaurants near Independence, OR

“Just home after two wonderful days at the Oak Tree. We were upgraded to room 53, we could park right outside and the room was lovely. Nice large comfy bed, tv, amenities and the under floor heating in bathroom was a nice touch. We spent our days walking locally or sitting in the lovely cafe. The coffee was great and the scones were huge and delicious. The wee shop is well stocked and my partner was happy to purchase one of the mugs we had in our room. The food in the restaurant was superb, good quantities and excellent quality. The Cullen skink was amongst the best I’ve ever had. We ate here for two nights, we both had two courses each, beer, wine and soft drinks for 80 pounds. The staff throughout, from the cafe, to the shop, front desk and restaurant area were so nice, and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back.“

“Fabulous restaurant! We went for my husband’s birthday tonight. Waitress was a gem! We were treated to a complimentary bacon wrapped dates appetizer. Highly recommend the Brussel Sprouts appetizer as well. Crab cakes were delicious. Our teenage son said the chicken fettuccine Alfredo was delicious. Cajun steak and shrimp fettuccine special was top notch. We were so stuffed we couldn’t try dessert, next time. I had called to make a reservation and we had a perfect spot and view of outside. Nice touch with the fireplaces. Atmosphere is very nice and classy. Lady who took my reservation over the phone and the host were super friendly. Manager of the restaurant also so friendly made us feel welcome. Everyone made sure we had everything we needed and more. Hats off to the chef too. We will come check out your brunch. “The most special-occasion restaurant I patronize. Classy ambience, view, sharp personnel. As a senior dining alone I don't feel as comfortable here as I would at Josey's, say, otherwise I would patronize them weekly. I lunch only, and have had what I would call pub grub. Regulars who review on other forums report that the kitchen is capable of performing at a very high level. An exceptional venue for Salem and it deserves to live.“
