Stickmen Brewing Company - Lake Oswego Brewery • $$
40 N State St, Lake Oswego

“We enjoyed an impromptu visit with friends for dinner. We pulled up in our boat and didn't have reservations for a Thursday night. They were able to accommodate 10 of us and we only waited 15-20 min. We hung out in the bar until our table was ready. Service was fine. A little slow to respond and check on us but a nice evening out. I enjoyed a salad and cocktail. Food portions were a good size for those that ordered meals. Perfect place for views of the water and to hang out.“

“I absolutely LOVE this place! The food is INCREDIBLE! There isn't a bad item on the menu. The Facaccia is out of this world. I could easily eat 10 servings in one sitting. The Chèvre Dip and Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts make great appetizers. You also can never go wrong with their pizza or risotto. It's a small establishment so be sure to make a reservation if you want to be sure you get a table. The staff is very friendly and always does an amazing job. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND eating here!“

“Just had a tasty experience here and can’t stop thinking about it! Got the honey garlic chicken sandwich and WOW was that good. Messy but so so good. Great and fun staff interactions, perfect place to hang and chat with a friend. They helped me find an IPA for my picky taste, and my friend really enjoyed her mixed drink. Such a gem! Will definitely be back sooner than later.“

“I have a love/hate relationship w/this place. Drinks are phenomenal. Service is hit or miss...I feel it has to do w/being understaffed. I will say, if you can get seats at the bar, do it - the service is wayyyy better there. The food...it's not my fave. I've made my way through the menu because I've tried really hard to find something I love but I haven't found it. I'll keep coming back for the drinks because they are delicious!“

“I've Been coming here for years, since they opened. The food is always on point, especially the burgers. I'm not a fan of the brown overcooked fries, but many are, so I can't blame them for casting a wide net. The small plates are usually a favorite for us, and ordering several to share is quite the treat. The salads are also exceptional, and with protein can easily make a meal.Local taps and fun cocktails with a regular happy hour and specials menu.I'm glad these folks are still around through all the madness. If you're in the Taborhood, don't skip out on this joint.“

“I don't know why we waited so long to go here. It was always on my long list, but somehow never made it to the top. Until one October day, while we were out running errands and we became wicked hungry. My husband Google mapped nearby restaurants and mentioned Stammtisch. Yes, let's go!! I expected a wait, seeing as though it was a Saturday at noon, but we were seated right away, as if it was our regular table. Stammtisch tranlates to 'regular table,' and that's the way they treat all of their guests, like regulars at a corner pub. The cozy atmosphere feels a bit more like an old British pub, but the vast selection of German beers on tap proves otherwise. On that first visit, I ordered the Venusmuschein, a steaming bowl of clams in a complex tomato, basil, garlic and white wine broth that was ridiculously flavorful. Paired with the Paulaner seasonal ale, it was perfection! My husband ordered a Hofbrau original and the Reuben sandwich. To him, the Reuben is a benchmark by which to judge any retsuarant/pub, and after just one bite, this Reuben quickly jumped to the top of his list. It's the perfect balance of juicy pastrami and sauerkraut (both made in-house) with German gruyere, and Russian dressing on griddled rye. Doesn't get much better than this one. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that on subsequent visits, we have both ordered exactly the same things -- they're just that good! Go and find your regular table. You won't regret it!“

“I've been here a couple times and am just now getting around to writing a review, after having a really good lunch. LL has a great beer selection, a thriving night scene and rotating whiskey specials to fit every budget. Manhattans are on point. The space is very clean especially for a late night spot. The food is really really good during the day with reasonable prices. I've always been to busy drinking to eat anything at night, but it seems there would be good bar bites.“

Ground Breaker Brewing and Gastropub Brewery • $$
2030 SE 7th Ave, Portland

“4 stars for the beer. Family member said beer was pretty dang good and it’s impressive what they’ve done and how they’re 100% gluten free. Although I wish it was clear on their website that this is a “limited service restaurant” (I.e. order from your phone at the table and very limited contact with staff other than them bringing your food to you). I understand if they do not have the means to be a full-service restaurant but just wish it was clearly stated on their website. A Gastropub is supposed to be a full-service restaurant. As someone with celiac disease, I rarely get to go out to dinner and was looking forward to eating at a full service restaurant (not a 5 star fancy place necessarily but at least just given the service that usually comes with food priced as high as it is) We drove from Vancouver, Wa and were a little bummed. Beer was great though ?“
