“One of favorite breweries. A hidden jewel of the Portland beer scene. High quality beer in a wide variety of traditional styles and some innovations. Chill and friendly vibe. Dog friendly. Worth going off the beaten path to have a pint or two.“
“Some pretty great beers. Unfortunately sometimes what you most want to try is only available in the fridge and we were told you can't consume it there so plan accordingly. The poblano pepper mushroom taco is a great veggie option; at least for this meat eater wanting a small break from meat dishes it hit the spot.Vegetarian options: Poblano mushroom taco“
“Great low-key atmosphere, rain or shine! Family and dog friendly. Tons of outdoor seating, dozens of brews on tap, and several food truck options. We opted for brews and 1/4 slices of Ranch Pizza's pepperoni pizza and breadsticks. Everything hit the spot, staff were kind and helpful, and on a Friday night there was live music on the patio. We'll certainly be back!“
“My favorite beer has come to Portland! The new taproom said dog friendly on the site but know that means patio. They still made it as nice as possible for us by building a fire and bringing water out for our pup. Great service, nice people, and delicious beer.“
“It's a bar I like very much. The style is very warm and feels like I'm at home. Ryan, the bartender, is very friendly in greeting customers and introducing wines. He is very enthusiastic about his work. In addition, their wines are really delicious, ranging from refreshing to sour! Must come“
“I got the Paloma, Forager pizza, and the artichoke dip.10/10. Don’t sleep on this spot!Hands down the best artichoke dip. Creamy, full of veggies, and so tasty.Pizza was awesome. I personally love Detroit style pizza but I’ve never had one with an oil instead of sauce on top. SOO good! The crust has a crunchy outside throughout which is sometimes not the case at other establishments.Paloma was top notch. Loved our first visit, can’t wait to come back.“
“Great setup with the various food vendors that are part of the building. Lots of different styles of beer and the server was friendly. The Timbers were on TV and this seems like a fun place to watch a game but we couldn’t stick around. Would like to come back in the summer and enjoy the covered patio.“
“You won't know it on the website , but they serve square shaped deep dish pizza , here. And it's really good . The beers , however , are citris centric. West coast this and that, Some lagers snuck in. Personally , I stick to the brown ale . Live music plays open a large space occupied , sometimes , by kids and dogs. Very dog friendly. Parking is in a fenced yard south of building. Also if you like to drive past 10 mph, you will miss the "Ruse" symbol on the side of the building.“
“Dined last night with a party of eight, four kids and four adults and the food was great! Brussel sprouts, arancini, kale salad, and pizzas all came out quickly and everything was nicely seasoned and well balanced in flavor. The only real problem with our experience would be the lack of servers/ front of the house staff. Trying to connect with friends over a meal and having to order through a QR codes is really just the worst. Unfortunately this pandemic band-aid fix for social distancing has continued for places like this to keep labor costs down for restaurant/ establishment owners. Easier on their pocket books however this provides a lackluster experience for their customers. Even our food runner couldn't help us navigate our order history to search for a mistake in their food delivery, he was kind and fixed it however. The pandemic is over, hire some great FOH staff and this place would be soooo much better.Parking: Nice, large parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Nice large tables with games for kids!“
“Great place!I stopped here on the last leg of a cross country road trip in the early afternoon. The beer is fantastic, the food from Tomale Boy amazing, and the service top notch. Had a nice conversation with the bar tender and enjoyed the casual relaxed atmosphere without pretense.“
“Nice little place, but parking can be a challenge. The street parking is limited and competitive. The place is larger inside than it appears from without. The beer is mostly German style, including the Ipa.There is outdoor seating for nice days. Inside, there is a foosball table and a couple of dartboards. I expect there would be a busier atmosphere if the parking situation was better.“
“Stopped in on a rare drive through the area to try one of their brews, and wow I was not disappointed!Since I was driving, I had to limit my beers so I went for just one of their’s called Green Dragon Barleywine. This style is often too syrupy and one dimensional, but this… this beer was a creamy balance of complex flavors of rich toasted malt, faint hints of ripe plums, a nicely supporting earthy and bitter hop note to provide contrast to the sweetness. This is a sipping beer, but it doesn’t hang around on the tongue too long. Sweet yes, but just perfectly so. The alcohol is noticeable, but not harsh or bracing. Just enough to let you know that you will be warmed, like a soft cushy couch with an oversized down comforter, only from your insides out.As I finish the beer and get ready to continue on my journey I’m left only to ask… why do I have to leave? Maybe I should wait one or four more hours to let traffic die down. Since I’m waiting that long, better order another beer to sip, and maybe be some food. Can’t wait to return to this cool place!I mean, if the first beer I picked is this good surely the other 11 on tap are worth a shot huh? Maybe I’ll do one of their 6-beer taster flights just to make sure?? Wait, I guess I’d need 2 of those sampler flights to cover everything wouldn’t I?But alas I must leave, and you know on the drive home I’m already contemplating an excuse to wander my way back down here sooner than later.“
“Delicious fish & chips, and we had excellent, speedy and attentive service in an awesome atmosphere with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. Good draft beer selection. Only one cider on tap unfortunately. Food was a bit pricier than we expected for a brewpub kind of place but delicious and we were happy with our experience nonetheless. We would definitely return!“
“Great hole in the wall place. Surprised they weren’t busy.Really great space with indoor and outdoor seating. The beer is delicious. The food was even better. 9/10 on the food. All in all a great little place that should be enjoyed and should be busier than it was for a Saturday afternoon.“
“It is undoubtedly one of the best winery bars in Portland, with the best wines, environment, and atmosphere. They make a lot of experimental wines that are very special and delicious. The bar is decorated in the style of a jazz bar, and the music is played on vinyl records. There are drinking spaces on the first and second floors, both of which are very comfortable. It's a pity that they only get a lot of customers coming in to drink when there are events nearby. I hope everyone will come and support us even when there are no activities.“
“Fairly good line-up of beers. Not a bunch to choose from however. No flights? Seems like a bad business idea given the limited options on the menu, and the 400 other brewers in town offering a variety to customers... But the 2 beers we had were good. Huge place, lots of room.“
“Very cool vibes at Threshold! The beer selection is fun and the bartender was very chill. There’s not much food selection here, but the area does have plenty of places to get something to eat.We went on a Friday which I think is karaoke night! It was fun for the time we were there, but very loud! There was outdoor seating, but it is not heated so dress warm.“
“Away Days is one of my favorite breweries in PDX! They brew all sorts of different styles. From IPA’s to stouts to cask ales. They do it all, and they do it very well! Home and Away IPA and Sheedy’s Irish Stout are two of my favorites. And make sure to check out Thursday Night Run club. 5k that starts and ends at Away Days at 6:30 pm.“
“Okay, Breakside Brewery is fine, nice indoor area and lot's of outdoor ambiance, staff was friendly and the margarita was good - but that's not the point. The best thing about Breakside is that it's the newest location for Tito's Taquitos, and THAT is something to celebrate! If you want the prettiest food on a plate that also is delicious and (relatively) healthy, you want Tito's. Their owners and employees are all the nicest people EVER, the food is ridiculously fresh and gorgeous, and it is SO GOOD. Great vegetarian options, I love love love their carnitas mushrooms! It's like eating a work of art, and even though it's deep-fried, there's so much fresh raw garnish and salsa and healthy toppings so it barely feels like a fried meal. Hubby always gets the fried fish tacos, and he also loves the shrimp tacos. We tried their new potato appetizer/nacho thing and it was really good, but the taquitos are still the best thing to get. Seriously, if you haven't tried Tito's, you must. This new location at Breakside is way closer to my work and easier to get to, which makes me very happy!“
“Not sure how I haven't reviewed this place yet. One of our favorite breweries in Portland and they're so close to home! Bartenders are always nice and patient since there's so much to look at. They offer little tastings which is always nice and they talk to you about what you're looking for to better help you decide. The atmosphere is always super chill, not too loud either. You can bring food in which is fun (we recommend MaKin Thai & Sushi down the road). And even when it's packed it's still chill. It's fun to watch the regulars interact with the bartenders (and I think we're becoming regulars too). Oh and the prices are great. They're good people serving good beer!“
“So, I went 4 stars just because this place is CHEAP - like you can get a decent meal for like $7, so that’s a bonus for sure. But just food alone, 3 stars. I thought the burger was pretty mid. The bun was pretty dry, and the burger patty just didn’t hit the mark. Sauce is great tho!“
“Highly would recommend. That sums up the experience. The owner behind the counter is a gentleman. He knew his taps like the back of his hand. He was of the upmost polite despite my "ignorance". This place is welcoming. Now the taste of the beer on tap, #10 was good for a wheat beer. There are many options here for all enthusiast or people looking for whatever their pallet is keen to.“
“The breakfast tacos are incredible every time. The pork belly, brisket, pulled pork and house made sausage are all tied for my favorite. The flour tortillas are light and fluffy. Thrilled they’re at this new location closer to my house. Have already ordered twice in two weeks ?“
“I have been coming here for years. Recently I went to pick up cans and there was nothing fresh in the fridge. Only some that were canned back in September thought that was really weird. A lot of guest taps as well, not sure if they're uninspired or don't care enough to make more of their own beers. I was about to come in a buy $60 worth of cans to take home but there aren't any. Owner is really nice though so I'll try again later.“
“Stopped in for the first time. Reminds me of a loved neighborhood bar/eatery.Arrowood deserves their high ratings. Husband and I had Cheeseburgers, he with salad, me with soup of the day - Curry Chicken. Wow. Burger was perfect, toppings complimented it well. Soup was so flavorful. 2 others in our party had fish and chips, raved about the chips and wished they had more. Last member had the Ahi sandwich. Said it was perfect.“
“Staff is always friendly. They have some pretty decent salads. I'm GF so the food selection is limited but the kale salad is solid, and have good ciders available. The bathroom next to the kitchen was amazingly warm and cozy when we went during the ice/snow storm. 10/10 would pee there again.“
“I had the BEST experience at Cooper Mountain Ale Works this evening. I am gluten free. Our waiter said that his wife is celiac so we were in good hands. I ordered a gluten free pub Burger with roasted vegetables as a side. (Their house made waffle fries have gluten)I FRICKIN KID YOU NOT THIS BURGER -- ONE OF THE TOP 3 I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE. Our waiter said that they grind their own fresh hamburger on site. Those patties were ???. I can't explain. Just SO GOOD. Highly recommend.“
“Really large brewery, almost a brew hall. Large bar, pizza kitchen, record shop? I watched someone drop $100+ just on records, so must be well curated. Kind of has a punk rock feel, maybe that was just the music playing. It's a really nice place though. A big indoor fireplace, lots of seating inside and out. I had a couple of their pilsners, Dad's beer got a full pour. Read a chapter until last call and on to the next.“
“I'm not a beer drinker... so I skipped this place for way too long.... Don't make the same mistake I made. The pizzas are a-maz-ing! Great interior with plenty of outside seating on these perfect summer/autumn days. We've always enjoyed good service .... Friendly staff.... Great location in MLK (for us anyway!)“
“This is a nice neighborhood pub. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. There are two small couch seats near the bar.The staff was friendly and helpful. Bussing was a bit slow. There is a food truck on site if you want more than drinks. There is a friendly resident cat who has the run of the pub including the bar counter top.The pub is also dog friendly. There are gas fire pits to keep warm around at night. There are many alcohol drink and non-alcohol drink options. The pub is cozy and well maintained.“
“Great Notion has a fantastic line-up of beers. Period. Didn't count but there had to be at least 25 to choose from. Got flights, very excellent. The variety is really 2nd to none in Portland. I don't care for sours, but even the one I had was solid. The place is a hike or Uber if you don't have a car, but it's pretty big and seemed to be lively.Note: Staff was fine, but seemed like they knew they worked at one of the bigger name places in Portland. The place has lost a bit of it's "release day" popularity from years past, but not a bit of the snobbiness that went with that. Nice folks I am sure, just be a bit more welcoming.“
“This is my second time here, and I can no longer put off writing a review. My experience has been stellar to say the least. I am somewhat of a beer connoisseur, and Stickman surprises me pleasantly each time. The beer selection is very nice and varied. The Belgian blonde I tried today has been absolutely perfectly crafted. The service both times was quick, professional, and courteous. I love the comfort of the space, which on a cold March day, and near freezing temperature outside, is cozy, warm and wants you to just stay for just one more pint.Heads down the best experience I have had in many years!!! Kudos, and I will be back as soon as I can.“
“This is a great local brewery. Our go to neighborhood location. This is a video game theme brewery, pinball games, and has a small outdoor deck in the back and small outdoor patio in the front. This is a dog friendly establishment for well-behaved dogs :) We have brought our dog and kiddo and it has been great. Beer is definitely solid. This used to be an old bank and the taps are inside what used to be a bank vault! Very friendly staff.“
“A wonderful brewery out post and food cart pod. A much bigger spot than I expected when looking from the street. A nice variety of food carts, only half were open on a Sunday afternoon. I was really impressed with Bam Pow Burgers, excellent burger and the fries were cooked perfectly nice and crisp with a nice amount of salt. The tap list was nicely balanced with a surprisingly number of fresh hop options. The fresh hop never fresher pale ale along with the fresh hop stay fresh IPA were both excellent. The Eastside pilsner was nice and crisp. Beers to go and beer swag available.Indoor and outdoor seating options. Not too busy on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Fast friendly service. Street parking is the only option. Highly recommend a visit if you love good beer and food. I will be coming back.“
“I want to say that I am impressed a friend invited me to this brewery, I was skeptical at first, but I was trilled after I've tasted the beers. We had two sets of samplers with 12 different beers, which I can tell that they have a variety of beers!I really enjoyed my time here.“

“It was super nice and I loved the place. It's kinda a hidden but not. The server was sweet and very attentive. The food was amazing. Everyone loved their burgers and or chicken n tots. Best chicken and tots plate I've ever had. The raspberry lemonade was super good sweet and refreshing. I can't wait to come back especially for date night. I'm so glad we have this place in Portland with great prices, plenty of food, great service and great place to be in. Had a great time.“
“I visited this cool SE brewery with a couple of friends and it was a great little place to stop in and have a brew. I had the red which I really enjoyed as it was kind of dark and toasty for a red which was perfect considering the typical cold and wet Portland day. I definitely want to come back when it's warmer as it looked like they had some great outdoor seating too.“
“Barleycorn," of course, refers to the barley used in malt liquor. And aren't we glad it does? Inside John Barleycorns, you'll find a nice, dark, cozy space — topped by a dramatic cathedral ceiling — and McMenamins-strength ales and spirits. Outside, the terrace is surrounded by a garden.Stop by with family and friends for a pint or two, handcrafted in-house.Happy Happy Hour 2-5 everyday“
“We showed up for the tunnel tour. Natasha, our tour guide, was very thorough in making sure that the entire group was present before beginning. Once underway, we were shown what is left of the extensive tunnels under Portland. Natasha was fantastic. As she told us about each spot we stopped at, her delivery made it very easy to picture the events of the time period. I’ve been on tours with guides who have been super informative, but Natasha stands out as one of the most animated and immersed guides I have experienced. Following the tour, we stayed long enough for the beer sampling which was outstanding. We finally made our way to the main parlor where my spouse and I got a slice apiece. The ambiance and atmosphere of the place is like none other. The pizza is absolutely worth the wait and the beer selection lets you know that you couldn’t be anywhere else. I would be remiss if I didn’t say that visiting Old Town Pizza is an entire experience.“
“The best beer bar in Portland as far as I'm concerned.Welcoming atmosphere, friendly peeps, and GREAT beers, both on tap and packaged. Prices are extremely reasonable. There's usually a 3rd party food vendor, but you can also bring your own. And they've been open everyday for the last 5000+ days!If you like beer and/or bar culture, you should have already visited this place. But if you haven't, there's no time like the present!“
“A great local taproom with a wonderful taplist featuring local and other brews. As a fan of pilsners, their Ordnance Pilsner was exceptional! The staff couldn't have been more friendly or knowledgeable about what they serve. We will definitely be back soon!“
“Fantastic 'market' destination with food and drinks, don't let the quiet street front put you off. The Taproom bar has great selection of local craft beers and incredible cocktails. Awesome service as well - learnt loads about good spots in Portland to hang out.“
“Sarah and Abby are the greatest bartenders I have ever experienced. Both so considerate and observant and just pleasant af. Always know when I am ready for another drink. Also just so sweet and kind and cool and make me feel so special. The reason I come! Thank you for making me and my friends feel so good. I hope your employer knows how incredibly cool and valuable you are! I will come again and again to see you both!“
“Gotta say, this place is always a great time. Some of the most fun and interesting beers I've ever gotten to enjoy.Victoria was helping us for the evening, and was so very kind, interactive, and personable. She did an amazing job, and I highly recommend stopping by.“
“4 stars for the beer. Family member said beer was pretty dang good and it’s impressive what they’ve done and how they’re 100% gluten free. Although I wish it was clear on their website that this is a “limited service restaurant” (I.e. order from your phone at the table and very limited contact with staff other than them bringing your food to you). I understand if they do not have the means to be a full-service restaurant but just wish it was clearly stated on their website. A Gastropub is supposed to be a full-service restaurant. As someone with celiac disease, I rarely get to go out to dinner and was looking forward to eating at a full service restaurant (not a 5 star fancy place necessarily but at least just given the service that usually comes with food priced as high as it is) We drove from Vancouver, Wa and were a little bummed. Beer was great though ?“
“Cool little warehouse location with his staff that is super friendly and helpful. Street parking is available. There's a fire pit outside which is cool.We came for some food after checking out Hopscotch. I ordered up the chicken sandwich which came with fries. My friend had the BLTA with fries. Both orders came out quickly, and the fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yum! My chicken sandwich came on a nice soft bun with garlic aïoli, bacon, tomato, onion and was absolutely delicious. Love the high ceilings in the warehouse feel. Lots of space and there's games to play if you like. Keep up the good work we'll be back!“
“Good beer. Plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. Dogs allowed! Video games?!? What more can you ask for from a brewery?? My husband and I were looking for a spot to take our pups out on a Friday night and stumbled into Level Beer. We've been to the other locations and have loved the vibes, so we're glad to have finally gone to this location. There are multiple food trucks on the outdoor patio to order from if you have the munchies. The beer selection is massive! The hazy we shared was super refreshing. We especially loved the pong arcade game and only wish we had more cash in hand to play more games.“
“This is my go-to place after work. It's great for a quick happy hour with colleagues and offers indoor and outdoor seating and if you ask, they'll add glitter to your beer! Their beer is pretty good and there are decent options. They often carry hefes which I appreciate!“
“Great beer selection and full bar. They had some small plates available and there is a whole outside area (with heaters and fire pits) that has a few food trucks you can order from also. There’s an old school rv that sells beer also outside“
