“Not just a restaurant, but also a bar with a wide selection of beverages. Their cocktails are delicious, and the strawberry lemonade is excellent! The food is tasty, the menu is diverse, and there are plenty of vegetarian options.

I highly recommend trying the appetizers, especially the tarator. The lentil soup is absolutely delicious, and the mushroom wrap is amazing. Don't forget to try their original pistachio baklava, and be sure to ask for the complimentary Turkish tea!“

“We each had a combo plate, which were very large, we could have easily share one and gotten some appetizers. The bread was so good- it was as if foccassia and pita /or Naan bread had a baby. The link sausages and their special Chevapi had such great flavor. You can really taste the mix of regional cultures in the food. it made me look up more about the region because I had no idea of the flavorful influences. Highly recommend!“

“Mediterranean food place just under new management as of June 2026. Waiter explained that he is altering dishes to be more authentically Syrian and Iraqi. I enjoyed his enthusiasm. And everything in the veggie combo. The falafel and dolmades were perfect, tasty but not greasy. The okra soup was fun to try as I don't ever see that on the menu.“

“The man who owns this cart is a gem. He is very kind. The first time I went there I got lamb Saj. This is my go too. I also ordered Dolmas (Stuffed Grape leaves). Authentic Iraqi cuisine.

The second time I went I let him pick what to give me. I will be back. Twice the food was perfect.“

“Have been here twice and you can’t go wrong with the lamb & chicken Saj with spicey garlic sauce. It’s large enough to split with someone. Also, must have an order of their hummus and pita; the pita is very soft and puffy…delicious! My only suggestion would be to give two pieces of pita instead of one with the hummus given the $8 price tag. I paired it with a wonderful Vietnamese stout…also delicious! 😋 I always be back for more!!“

There can be a bit of a wait during lunch hour since it's a one-man food cart operation (at most 10-15 minutes), but it's always worth it since everything is fresh and made-to-order. From the massive gyros to the delicious plates, everything is a must-try. To top it off, Ali is incredibly friendly and passionate, and it truly shows in the quality of his food.“

“Don’t miss this yummy cart in the back corner! If you like a lot of sauces, this is your place. I got the lamb plate and it came with hummus, tzaziki and two other sauces. They have gluten free pita too. It was a lot of food too. And there’s some tables to eat at.

The only issue was the outdoor seating area, which felt uncomfortable due to people yelling nearby. I’d recommend takeout instead.“

“We pick up take out from here at least once a month. It is always fast and good quality with a large serving sizes. Their chicken shawarma and lamb gyros are my favorites among all the other gyro restaurants in the area. Staff was helpful for dietary restrictions. They have Arabic and Greek style pita bread, which both are good. It is in a strip mall so not much atmosphere but the food makes up for it. My kids really like the chicken shawarma and it is so easy for a quick dinner.“

Abu Omar Gyros & Shawarma is a great place to eat.

I got a chicken Shawarma. Until to day I thought it was the same thing as a Gyro. Well, you learn something new every day.
It was very tasty. Lots of meat. They also gave me a little cup of hot sauce. Prob a med spice level. Really added to the Shawarma.
It's a big Shawarma. Half of it would be a meal. 3/4ths would be very full. Ate the whole thing and was uncomfortably full the rest of the day.Unless you're a big eater, be prepared to take some home.

My only complaint was the the bottom of the Shawarma the tortilla got soggy and fell apart. Good thing I'm a fast eater and was almost done when it totally fell apart.

I'll go back to this place and try a gyro next time.“

“Wow. I got the lamb gyro with some falafel in it... and this was probably the best gyro I ever had. I got the spicy version and the tzatziki totally balanced it out - not too spicy, just flavorful. The lamb was tender and the falafel was moist and crunchy.
