“Hit the McMenamins Pub, McMinnville, Oregon on a recent visit and had a Capt. Neon Burger with tots and a Dirty Shirley.

The Capt. Neon Burger shows up looking unapologetically hearty. A soft, lightly toasted bun cradles a thick, juicy beef patty cooked to a satisfying char on the outside while staying tender inside. Crisp lettuce and fresh red onion add crunch and bite, while the bacon brings smoky richness that anchors the whole stack. It’s a straightforward burger done confidently...no gimmicks, just solid execution. The toothpick through the top is a small detail, but it reinforces that classic pub-burger presentation.

The tater tots on the side are exactly what you want them to be: golden, crunchy on the outside, fluffy inside, and clearly fried with care. Dunked into the generous pool of ketchup, they’re nostalgic in the best way

The Dirty Shirley is pure throwback fun with a grown-up twist. Served ice-cold in a tall glass, it’s fizzy, lightly sweet, and refreshingly tart. “Celebrated 'moving to McMinnville day' with three other adults. One of us had this establishment recommended to him .. the recommendation was spot on. Grain Station is conveniently located in McMinnville, (but honestly, I have yet to find a place that's not cunveniently located in McMinnville.). We had plenty of parking to choose from. The facilities are very attractive with lots of light and tastefully warm colors and decor that puts you at ease the moment you walk in. We were greeted promptly and warmly by the staff and seated instantly in a booth with anchored benches. Our seats rocked back and forth a bit, like a swing chair. It wasn't bad but I wasn't sure if that was by design or an actual malfunction
The menu was extensive and very well presented and featured a cowboy / western flair with lots of options from salads, to a variety of appetizing sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, meatloaf, steak, fish and chips, and even steak. The sides are appropriate and numerous.
The food was very tasty. I had the cowboy brisket sandwich and it was delicious, though a touch on the fatty side. Others had maple bacon burger and waxed poetic about it. A grilled herb chicken and meatloaf with gravy rounded out a very nice dinner. Service was prompt, consciousness, and spot on. Only reason I didn't give it five stars was that the portions were a touch on the tiny side.
Overall, highly recommend Grain Station Brew Works.
