“Dive bar for sure but super clean. Friendly bartenders, though they may initially seem a bit stoic.
I got the chicken sandwich with waffle fries. The fries were great, but holy salt level!! I had to use a good amount of ketchup just to calm down the salt enough to enjoy. Guys, reign it in by half, and this is from a salt lover. The chicken sandwich was really good but I definitely wasn't expecting the heat that came with it. For me, it was a welcome surprise as I love spicy. But for others, it may not be so welcome. Would I eat hear again, likely for the quality of everything even if my heart may hate me for the salt alone.“

“I’ve been going here since I moved to the neighborhood before the pandemic. Excellent staff, 90% are the same for the past 6 years. This alone speaks volumes about an industry that is known for its high turnover.

The kitchen punches way above its weight for a Sports Bar, they make their soups from scratch & everything I’ve tried is exceptionally tasty. Great variety of salads for those who aren’t meat eaters.

Between the top notch friendly service, the cordial atmosphere & the fantastic kitchen, this is one of Portland’s hidden gems. I say this as a former sports bar owner myself, that was once profiled in Time Magazine, it doesn’t get any better than Peter’s, bar none.“

“The Dugout is a friendly bar with great food, reasonably priced, and very good service. It is across Garden Home Rd from the Trader Joe's in the Garden Home intersection, with parking in the back. It is one of the three bars owned by the same person - The Club House and Bar3. The menu is a no-frills, American basic foods, all prepared fresh and to order. And the portions are plentiful and very reasonably priced. I don't think anything is priced more than $20. Breakfast served all day. Highly recommend.“

“Great bar with awesome food and a super friendly staff. This is an excellent spot for a morning cocktail, especially paired with their chicken fried steak and sausage gravy—it’s seriously good.

They also have a great lunch menu, and the seating is well laid out with plenty of room at the bar and all around it. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place to hang out.

One heads-up: parking is tight, so I wouldn’t recommend bringing a full-size truck. Other than that, it’s a solid spot all around and definitely worth stopping in.“

“Wow!! Where do I start off with this hidden gem in the neighborhood. Well great location. Easy parking. As soon as my wife and I entered we were both greeted, but hey it's a tavern and so not expected. We sat ourselves right in the middle of the place and menu was already sitting on the table. Within 2 minutes a server came to the table to ask for drinks. My reason for coming was there sign in front about chicken. So when we ordered we ordered the chicken fried steak with biscuit and gravy. Chicken cooked to a perfection. Breast meat. What caught me with this dish was how well seasoned it is. Atmosphere is a bit different and some colored people it may seem a turn off, but let me tell you. I felt welcomed, waitress came by and checked on us and the memorabilia that flooded this place is more than enough to visit again which my wife and I will come again. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the eggs perfect and also seasoned well. TV playing all the sports I needed to see that day. Not to loud. Great place overall. Would definitely come back.“

“The number one hidden gem is SW Portland. I live part time in SW Portland and also in Gleneden Beach. The Bullseye Pub has the best service and the food is great. The service is way above the other establishments in the area. Ryan is SO amazing. patrons. He is the reason we keep going back. Tonight we had the Prime Rib special, the prime rib was cooked to perfection, the baked potato and veggies were ideal as well. I also want to give Ian a shout out, as he is awesome too. I have only been there once when he was working, another great guy. I used to frequent another place close by, but because of the service at the Bullseye, I prefer to spend my money where we are treated like gold. Thank You Bullseye for treating me like a local. “This is the quintessential local fish and chips joint in the best possible way. It has a classic local old school feel with hard working friendly service. I cannot say I've had better fish and chips anywhere. They use wild Alaskan cod that is ready lightning fast. It is so crunchy, juicy, fresh and tasty that I didn't even use the malt vinegar that is usually my favorite part. The chips are hot crunchy krinkle kuts...also my favorite. The surprise treat is the tartar sauce. Its homemade and killer, not the gross stuff from a jug. The coleslaw slaw is a creamy classic slightly sweet with little or no mustard or vinegar taste. Reasonable prices and portions for quality food. This is a seemingly hidden gem. They have nice burger and sandwich options that Im dying to try, but every person in there got the fish and chips. This is a new happy place for me.“

The bartender Stormi was totally kickass and down to earth; you could tell that her upbeat personality set the mood and everyone in there was feeling that same way. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and genuinely happy that I actually didn't want to leave... I almost never go to bars but, if you do; I'd definitely recommend trying this one. ??
Being friendly and caring really does go a long way and can do more for some people than you may know. ??
