“The food is absolutely 10/10 for me. I always order the lamb/rice combo and goat/rice combo, the seasoning of the food here is fantastic.
Also they got huge portion, when I order a lamb/rice meal, it not only come with lamb and rice, it also got some salad, a banana, a bottle of water and a bowl of soup, and I think it is a great deal for the money I pay with these amount of food.
The atmosphere is good, people are nice and friendly, they introduce the food for me when I first time step in the restaurant. And you can tell the restaurant is authentic by seeing so many local people enjoy their food in this place.
Overall, this place is worth to try it, if you are a lamb or goat lover, you have to try it. I also try their beef sugar/rice, it is good too, but I still highly recommend lamb or goat or steak because I prefer big piece of meat.“

“100/10 This place is genuinely the best. The food is amazing and worth the price. I’ve been a customer for years and thought it was impossible for it to get any better but it DID! According to my husband the place looks spectacular and the owner is very kind. As for my meal, the spinach is as smooth as butter, the spinach meat pie is flaky and sooo decadent, the fufu is soft and easy to eat with my hands, and finally the sweet fried plantains melt in your mouth. I could go on forever, it’s an unforgettable experience every time🤌🏼“

“Black Star Grill catered our wedding. They created an amazing menu and even delivered to our venue. Due to our covid concerns, they boxed each meal separately. This was very convenient to take home after the wedding. The food was DELICIOUS, even the staff loved the food. Many of our guests got to experience West African food for the first time. “I'm giving this restaurant a 5-star rating because they try so hard to please everyone and you know how hard that is to do. The service was good even a little understaffed the night we went. They tried their best to keep a hundred people happy and fed. The food is ample and very affordable for a 5-course meal of soup, salad, bastilla, entree, dessert, and sweet tea. It's a Portland iconic experience everyone would love. Is it perfect? Maybe, not for tall Americans with long legs sitting on little cushion tuffs, but it's a true Moroccan slice of life for us who enjoy different cuisines and atmospheres while dining. It's a very popular place requiring reservations. People want to linger, so the turn-over is probably unpredictable. Come chill.
