Elmer's Restaurant (Delta Park, Portland, OR)

I've only dined in the restaurant a handful of times over the years, but I enjoy playing video poker in the lounge so we usually have breakfast or lunch in the lounge first then stay and play. The bartenders are friendly and attentive and most of the customers are nice pleasant people. The food is fantastic!

When our tour group found out that we were stopping at Elmer's there was a collective groan because Elmer's is usually pretty mediocre at best. This place was a definite exception. The biscuits and gravy were world class, the Reuben sandwich, less so. It was tasty and had a generous amount of meat, but the toasted bread was as black as the ace of spades. My mother-in-law and I were staying next-door in the hotel for a short work related visit. Elmers is a traditional restaurant and we enjoyed it very much. I've never had a German pancake before or the German potatoes the way they make it at Elmers. But I highly recommend it they were excellent!
