“This was my first time in Portland and I had heard about the phenomenal food truck culture in the city. This one was my absolute favorite of them all!
Kafta house is a “Mom & Pop” owned food truck offering middle eastern/Mediterranean cuisine. The owners are very warm people and treat their customers like family who have come over for dinner.
I had the lamb gyros with fries. The lamb meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned tastefully, as were the fries. I’ve eaten many gyros in my life, but have to say this one was my favorite.
The cardamom chai was the perfect ending to a great meal. Thank you to the owners for the most memorable dining experience during my stay in Portland! I wish this food truck existed in the city where I live. I will stop by again if I come back to Portland.“

“Loved the convenience and it was nice that they have a little bar with happy hour. The pad Thai from Little Thai Peacock was delicious. I was disappointed with the shrimp dumplings from Shanghai’s best plus the server was extremely rude to me.“

“This is our favorite food truck area. My partner and I both love Mole Mole, especially. So many options for vegans! Also, the price/value of portions at all places we’ve tried is great. Lots of seating but it gets very busy at typical meal times.“

“I can't go anywhere at The Heist food cart pod except for Namo Buddha Himalayan. The #4 Chicken Curry is the best dish ever. Delicious chicken and chickpeas in a fantastic red curry sauce. Healthy and full of flavor but not spicy. I keep trying to try another cart and always end up at Namo Buddha Himalayan. Yum.“

“We had a wonderful time when we visited Farmhouse Carts recently! We had a diverse set of taste buds with us from a handful of kids to several adults and there was a flavor for everyone! Mama Chow’s garlic noodles was my favorite, my sister in law got some amazing Thai food, the kids found some drinks and us adults had some beers! I especially loved the fancy wood and sitting under the covered area. Open air is so good with kids, but with our weather the cover was amazing to stay out of the rain.
Dietary restrictions: We got almost custom meals from mama chow’s! We aren’t vegetarian, but I’m sure they could accommodate that!
Kid-friendliness: Yes!“

“Great selection of food from the resident food trucks and a great rotating tap list at the bar. Perfect spot for a quick bite to eat and beverage prior to heading to the the Moda Center. Bonus: Order from the bar and any or all of the food trucks from your phone through their great online ordering system! Very convenient and didn't have to wait in a single line. 😀“

“Though it has less options than the Hawthorne Asylum nearby, I would say this was my favorite food cart pod. The seating is all very nice and well cared for, and the food is impressive with a variety of high-quality options that also just have the cutest theming.“

“We stopped here while visiting from Chicago. We do not have food cart pods like this at home and I love the concept. This particular pod was among the two best that we visited. We had beer and Indian food and both were above average. I particularly liked the DIY, unpretentious demeanor of the eating space. It had less infrastructure than other pods but for me that was even better, in terms of staying true to the original concept and controlling costs. I just felt at home. Keep it up!“

“This is a great food cart pod area. There is a fantastic variety of different options. The layout is also really great. It has tables and chairs and areas for dogs. What I especially love is that there is a coffee cart which is superb. I highly recommend the Bite on Belmont. It is a great setting.“

“Wow. The Pad Thai Burger is so delicious. I gobbled my way through a massive burger filled with fresh, tasty toppings, a thick beef patty - hand formed and cooked to perfection. And then there is the salad! Side salads rarely spark my interest, but again, the ingredients were top notch and so lovingly arranged. The salad dressing is house made with a hint of sweetness a touch of spiciness and a dash of tart/vinegar all in perfect balance. My mouth, belly, and heart all feel nourished from this very well crafted meal. YUM ?“

“So far I've eaten at 3 out of 6 of the carts here (I'm including the Pour House in the count even though it's a bar).
Rollin' Fresh - Very good sushi with a twist (burrito style!)
Bajala - Excellent tacos, very fresh, with lots of flavor. (Separate review on their google maps entry)
Village Kitchen - so far my favorite Burmese food in the Northwest district and there something like 4 other Burmese restaurants.
I'll get to the rest soon enough.“
“I live very close to this place and I love a few of these food carts specifically the chicken and jo jo truck there special jo jos are amazing and there secret batter is the best crispy and perfect mix of seasonings not to salty and then perfect size cut potato wedges not to much potato that it makes it to much to the point you are not able to even enjoy the battered coating this is perfect am need buttery goodness they are deep-fried but amazing you can get a full order or a half order and then the choices of chicken strips or sandwiches you can choose from are very creative and you will not find anything like this anywhere else don't forget there dipping sauce for the jo jos as well also very great and no other place will have it so you have to go to this one specifically to try them it's the food trucks on Powell and 35th between the dollars store and Chipotle the food carts are right between the two businesses and the chicken and jo jo truck is tricked away in back in the center of all the trucks you can't miss it“
“This place is so cool! You're just strolling along, minding your own business when suddenly BAM! Food! It's an entire block of different ethnic food. Mostly Mediterranean, but plenty of other places too. Gyros, shawarma, Mexican, cajun and more, all wrapped around an empty parking lot. Come hungry!“
“Great carts, lots of options, and love the beer mostly. Conscious Sedation has a good beer selection, live music, and plenty of covered seating.
The food pod is not well managed and and stuff is half open and businesses come and go.“

“Wow! Honestly, best tacos we’ve had in PDX. Great service and fresh ingredients. We had the taco plate, with asada - the asada was crispy and flavorful. The tortillas were handmade! Rice and beans were good as well. We also tried the tacos dorados with potato. They were nice and warm, crunchy, everything was just great!!!“

“Man it’s awesome to have a great Hawaiian cart in the area again. I especially appreciate the indo-Asian dishes like the kimchi fried rice. Those cucumbers, I’m afraid to order the large size because I think I would eat them all in one sitting. The Hawaiian fare (shoyu chicken, kalua pork, Mac salad etc) is all spot on too, or I wouldn’t be writing this. Wish it was open more hours…but good enough that we work around that.
Parking: Small lot on the actual property. Street parking in the neighborhood or ride your bike in warmer months.
Wheelchair accessibility: The cart pod has a ADA spot and is accessible“

“Its an indoor food pod attached to a brew pub. Overpriced, but lots of decent food options.
The Mexican food is especially good. Eay above average for Portland.
The cuban sandwich was also good, and its huge.
Its right down the street from the pickles stadium, so not a bad option for Pickles pregame.“

“One of the best food trucks I’ve ever visited!
The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can really taste the quality in every bite. The service was outstanding too — friendly, quick, and welcoming. Even though it’s a food truck, the setup and vibe made it feel like a great place to enjoy a relaxed lunch.
I stopped by for lunch and was genuinely impressed. Definitely a must-try if you’re into Mediterranean or halal food. Great value for the price as well — highly recommended!“
“I really enjoyed this pod! There are 8+ different places to eat and the food here is wonderful. My wife and I personally tried , "flew the coop" and "La Arepa" and both had great service and the food was delicious. The attached brewery had an amazing selection of beers. The only detractor was that there was A Lot of very hoppy beers. That is a personal preference though. The Beer I did have was delicious. It's very family friendly and I enjoyed it.“

“My aunt Patty asked me to write this review for her. She informed me she had met her brother and her family there for lunch that were traveling here from Burma. They hadn't seen each other in many years. Patty told me that the food reminded her of her mother's food. She told me that Mo is a very nice lady and she recommended any one who loves Burmese food to try it out .“

“Two words - Duck Curry! Omg this was so delicious. The red curry was incredible, one of the best we have ever had. The duck was cooked perfectly and I loved the grapes and pineapple in the sauce, I didn't think they would work but they sure did. The rice that came with it was also perfection. Cannot wait to come back and try more of their dishes!“

“A few food trucks, but not as much variety as I had hoped. Some trucks offer the same type of food. We enjoyed the food, even though the fries were undercooked. Greek, Indian, Italian, and Mexican cuisine available, along with a sushi truck.“

This is easily one of the best Black-owned restaurants in Portland that offers an authentic taste of Haiti’s rich heritage right in the heart of the city.
