Always excellent food served in a lovely atmosphere by attentive hosts. Always.
I’ve been eating at this Pho Van location since 2005! I think it’s one of the best restaurants in Portland. This meal is the #50 on the menu, which is grilled lemongrass chicken. It’s one of my top favorite meals. Highly recommend.

Pho Van Restaurant is a top notch Vietnamese restaurant in Portland. The food is hands down the best, with delicious vermicelli, excellent Pho, and some of the best fresh spring rolls. The atmosphere is amazing with giant live plants, skylights, and beautiful decor that makes the place feel very inviting. The service is consistent, fast, and top-notch. The menu is extensive but not excessive. One reviewer ordered the lemongrass chicken with rice and fish sauce, which was fragrant and scrumptious with generous portions. Another ordered the #1 (without tripe) and an iced vietnamese coffee. However, some reviews mention that the pho can be slightly salty, and one diner found the ginger chicken had too much ginger and garlic. Another noted the soup was cold and the meat was very raw, with almost no service due to being too busy. Despite this, the restaurant is genuinely one of the best in Portland, with a relaxing, peaceful vibe and soft, pleasant lighting. It is a must for authentic Vietnamese food.
