“My husband and I had heard great things about this cart, so we came and got a ton of food to give it a try. We are so glad we did! The word of mouth is absolutely correct. The food was fresh, delicious, and perfectly spiced. Plus the portions are very generous. Our stand outs: chicken biryani, lamb curry, and veggie pakoras. The biryani may be one of the best I’ve had anywhere, we both had to throw away our spoons to stop eating it. The lamb is tender and the curry flavor is deep and rich and flavorful. The pakoras are more substantial than others I’ve had, but they had great flavor and I loved the coriander chutney they came with. This cart is a gem and I can’t wait to go back for more!“

I ordered Dahi Bhalla chat which was actually very yummy… would order that again. Also ordered an eggplant dish called Baingan Bhartha. I ordered mild, should have done medium spice. It was an ok dish, a little on the salty side for my tastes. The rice was nice and fluffy and also ordered garlic naan. They didn’t include forks or napkins 🤷🏻‍♀ however I would order from here again“

“Hidden gem! Kudos to the owner for establishing such a lovely place. Food is just like home. I am North Indian, I do not like many of Indian restaurants here considering all the adulteration. But this place is so good. Food is very authentic tasting. It is not overloaded with pre made gravies and spices are wel balanced. Which many chefs lack. Restaurant decor is absolutely the best I have ever seen. Walls are filled with beauty of the culture.

Upon a little chat with staff, learnt it is owned by an American man who spent time in India and learnt cooking. Hats off to you!

IT WAS SOOOOO DELICIOUS AND EXTREMELY WELL SEASONED. The food was sooo good when I got home from work; I heated up more of it. DANG IT!!! Was just as good as the first bite. “my dude, I love this place. they have great food at great prices, and I HAVE to share this: they make kheer (rice pudding, something I am obsessed with), and the first time I went there I found out it had pistachios, which would give me a massive allergic reaction, so I asked if they ever made it without pistachios, and the lovely lady there made me a special batch the next day that I could eat. this was like months ago. I continue to go there all the time but I don't always see her there (which is fine, everyone has different shifts), but today when I stopped in, she was there and she let me know that she had again made kheer without pistachios just in case. 10/10 food, 10/10 customer service, and just like 20/10 experience.

“We went here starving after driving all day and really needed a pick me up. It's located in a relatively quiet neighborhood and is a bit unassuming but it truly had one of the closest to authentic Indian food experiences I have had so far.

We ordered the Idly Sambar and the thali. Both portions were great and the food was perfectly seasoned and spiced instead of either bland or burning hot spicy. The staff were super nice and polite and the service was prompt.

10/10 would recommend if you are in the Portland area and are craving some authentic Indian food.“

A full plate biryani is sufficient for three to four people, so be mindful of your order size. The goat biryani was particularly delicious, but the rest of the biryanis were average.“
