“Fairly good Greek food for a fast food-dine in hybrid restaurant, although a bit pricey. At this restaurant, you order your food up at the counter where you can choose to dine-in or takeout. If you dine-in, they give you a number placecard which you can bring to a table and they bring you your food. The food is plated beautifully and with care which was unexpected for the type of dining experience but welcomed! With this in mind, it does take longer for the food to come out (around 10-15 min when it's not busy). I ordered a falafel plate with rice as my side, but you can choose from other options including some delicious fries (not pictured). The server/front employee brought us our side salads first before returning with the main dish a few minutes later. It came with six falafels on top of hummus spread and four pieces of pita. The dish was quite filling and I ended up asking for a takeout box to bring it home with me. I would recommend picking the fries as a side for the plate dishes to get more for your buck as many of the dishes cost $15+. The quality of the plating and the flavor reflects the price, but I don't think I would come here regularly because of it.“

“I loved the atmosphere they created. They even went as far as to decorate the bathrooms with the same aesthetic. The mood setting was lovely, from the overhead lights to the mini tableside lamps, to the comfortable booths and chairs, the leather-bound menus, as well as the waiters kindness and amicableness. The 3 plates we ordered to share were perfect and quite delightful! Compliments to the prep cooks and chefs! I wouldn't change anything.The Mezza Platter Sampler was a perfect appetizer, my personal favorite was the Baba Gannouj. I loved the creamyness and slight tang that it had. But they were all a great try! We had it along with the Queen's Karak (hot saffron milk tea) and it was a perfect tummy warmer along with the freshness of the platter. It was quite aromatic and earthy and creamy all at the same time. Make sure to continuously stir, as it's hot and the spices fall to the bottom, making a delightful tongue punch to end the cup with.The "friday special" Lamb Shank Mandi was an absolutely delicious main entrée, with it's smoked lamb shank, aromatic rice, spiced and spicy dipping sauce and their vegestable stew. All the flavors mixed so perfectly together and filled us up quite nicely.We ended our lovely night in this cozy, beautiful atmosphere with a Date Cake & Ice Cream dessert. The nuts on top were a perfect flavor and crunch alongside the creamy, vanilla carmel ice cream, and the date cake underneath was a perfect pair to the rest of the dessert. Be careful ordering one; you'll get addicted and want more. I did, but unfortunately I was too full of the rest of the yummylicious Saudi Arabian food to get another. (Don't take the stick out of the ice cream, just eat around it carefully. It keeps the ice cream on top of the cake perfectly; no details forgotten.)Vegetarian options: There is one vegetarian appetizer that I saw and one vegan main entrée that I saw. The flavors and aromatics are to die for, so try it once, and if it's not the best, at least you tried it.Dietary restrictions: Dietary Restrictions? Bring your eating pants; everything is worth it and delicious.Parking: Free street parking after a certain point of time in the night; might have to walk a couple of blocks.Paid street parking during the day. If you can order and consume everything in under 2 hours, might be your best choice financially as the lots and garages are pretty pricey. Otherwise you can always move your vehicle and pay for another 2 hours on a different street.Paid lots and garages are scattered about along the streets. Current pricing is $6.00 first hour and $14.00 all day to my knowledge. Could change as years progress.Kid-friendliness: Well-behaved kids at this establishment... Not meant for the rowdy bunch. “Happy we finally got to eat here after it's been on our list for some time. It didn't disappoint. Our server Stephanie was very helpful in giving us recommendations on what to try and she was very personable. We landed on the brussel sprouts, falafels, and lamb belly. The brussel sprouts were perfect, falafels delicious, and lamb belly was probably the best lamb I've had, though I did think it was a little too charred for my liking. My husband enjoyed his hot toddy and my sweet fruity mocktail surprisingly went really well with dinner. They've chosen good pairings. Cute little place too!“

“I stumbled across Cedo’s a few years ago when I moved to Portland. I looked around at what everyone else was eating, ordered a falafel sandwich with the signature potatoes + hot sauce, and my mind was forever blown. I’ve since also developed great affection for the tabbouleh & hummus sandwich, which is super fresh and delicious (and packs a lemony punch). Eat here if you like local, homemade food in the coziest, friendliest spot around. ❤️“

“I enjoyed the grilled vegetable platter. Also, the in-house baked, fresh piping hot out the oven pita bread was amazing with the hummus. Save room for dessert because tue baklava is amazing! “Shalom Y’all had been highly recommended and did not disappoint in the slightest. Unless you’re particularly adverse to train horn jumpscares (railroad beside the restaurant), the infrastructure and atmosphere are elegant and beautiful. I was comped a mixed greens salad with fantastic dressing to start and then had a Moroccan mint tea and a Shalom Y’all plate which together had to have been the best meal I’ve had in Portland since Dove Vivi. Mike provided great service. Drink menu was very thorough. Only issue is tough to park near. 10/10“

“DarSalam is one of my top two favorite restaurants in Portland. The food is incredible! It's so flavorful and cooked to perfection. You can taste the love in every bite. The shredded chicken plate is my favorite and they make the best falafel I've ever had. Oh, and the soup is delicious! It's family owned and operated and both brothers and sister, Shaimaa, are so welcoming and friendly. I can't say enough good things about their restaurants.“

“My family and I were super hungry and didn't want to make dishes. We had just got a few groceries at Fred Meyer and saw this little restaurant around the corner. The atmosphere was clean and lovely, the food was so good and authentic, and the family was kind and helpful. Both my young kids devoured their meals. There are these chicken wrap things, I don't remember what they were called, but they were awesome! The owner's son was there and even took the initiative to put on a movie for my kids. We will definitely be back.“

“I tried Sophia's Cafe for the first time today, and I have to say, I was very impressed with the meal I enjoyed this afternoon from their lunch specials. The owner came out to the dining room to speak with my daughter, and I; and, we enjoyed a pleasant conversation with him. Their portions were generous, too and service was outstanding and without a doubt the owners care a great deal about their customers. I was delighted to see a reasonably priced contemporary cafe that also brings authentic middle eastern cuisine and ambience to the heart of Sherwood. “So disappointed... That I didn't know about this place sooner!! Last night my husband told me he had NEVER eaten a gyro. I knew I had to correct this immediately. So, I started looking for gyros near me. Now, since he's never tried one, I didn't want him to have a bad first experience that would put him off of them forever since I enjoy them so much. I chose this establishment based on very high google reviews (5 stars) and because it's so close to where we live (5 mins). This place has gone beyond expectations! The food is amazing! Perfect blend of delicious spices and ingredients. HUGE amount of food. It was so delicious that I scarfed it down so fast I got sauce up my nose. I'm so happy that we found this little gem. “The portion sizes here are just insane. I have never been handed such a gyro this big anywhere else. The hummus plate comes with enough hummus for a large family. Oh, and the lamb was perfectly seasoned.Something about the tzatziki sauce didn't sit quite right with me, but I don't think it was prepared poorly. I just think their tzatziki isn't quite my style.My family will certainly be returning.“

“We have been going to Falafel Express since they were at their original location off 99. This is a small family owned business, Abu Muhammad and his family have been offering excellent authentic Palestinian cuisine since they first opened and probably the only one of its kind locally. My favorite dish by far is Chicken Shawarma whether as a chicken Arabi, wrap or plate form, it is special to the Gaza region, he prepares it from scratch and it is delicious, if you have time I would recommend his Kebabs they are excellent and made to orders so freshness is guaranteed, his prices are very reasonable for the generous portions he offers, their service is fast and offer great customer service. Nothing special for seating but it is called 2 Go so grab your meal and head on out.Dietary restrictions: You don't think about dairy free much but exchanging taziki with tahini is a great option.“

“What a gem. DarSalam turned a bad night into a great one! Was out with a group of friends for a birthday and when we arrived at the restaurant where we had a reservation…it was closed. No warning. So we walked to DarSalam and they were so nice and we waited for a table for about 15 minutes. Great middle eastern style menu. The mezzanine platter is so good. One of the best falafel in Portland. The tabouli is to die for. So fresh. The chicken kebob plate was delicious with rice and a side of chickpea stew. Service was friendly and helpful. What a great place. We will definitely be back. DarSalam helped make a night ruined by another restaurant down the street into a great night! Thank you!“
