Disappointed by the lack of vegan options at Tanaka. Although I ordered the spicy tofu katsu in a lettuce wrap, it didn't provide the same experience as Tokyo Sando in downtown Portland. I was disappointed that the spicy tofu katsu sandwich wasn't actually spicy but more tangy like barbecue sauce. And, the fries were saltier than expected. The patio is nice and friendly for dogs especially on a warm day! Make sure to bus yourself.

When I heard of this new sando place, I was not expecting the ambiance that it has. It's a very casual, order at the counter and bus your own table type of atmosphere. Now for the food, we got the fruit sando which was good! And the pork katsu sando which I thought was pretty good too but the katsu was tiny for what I paid for. It also had either a wasabi or horseradish sauce on the sandwich which was very overpowering; I typically love a good burn with sushi but I'm not sure...read full review
