“We had the most amazing experience here! It’s definitely our new favorite Bend hotspot. First of all, kudos to server Alex for the recommendation, and for going above and beyond his job! Alex was cheerful, engaging, informative, and gave us perfect tips for both drinks and eats. He was so pleasant, has a wonderful smile, and made his feel so special! He even put a birthday candle on our beignet order! Besides Alex’s amazing service, our beer was delicious, the food incredible, and the patio a perfect location for an overall enjoyable evening. Oh my goodness, the hummus was to die for! Perfect with our beer flights. It tops everywhere else we ate over our weekend visit, and will be the first place we go on our next trip to Bend. “We had such a wonderful experience here, and we are incredibly grateful to the staff.

First of all, the food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was flavorful and well prepared, and we really enjoyed our meal.

But what impressed us even more was how incredibly kind and helpful the staff were.

My husband accidentally lost our hotel key card while we were dining at the restaurant. We didn’t realize it was missing until we got back to our hotel, and by the time we returned to the restaurant, it was already around 9 PM and the restaurant was closed.

We went around to the back entrance, and even though they were already closed, the kitchen staff were incredibly kind and continued helping us look for the card. Everyone was so friendly and patient, and they even contacted the server who had worked that day to try to figure out where it might have gone.

After searching for quite a while, we honestly had almost given up. Just when we were about to leave, one of the staff members suddenly found the card in the trash!

We were so relieved and incredibly touched by how much effort everyone put into helping us, even after they had already closed for the night.

Great food, but even more importantly, truly wonderful people. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us that night. Your kindness really meant a lot to us, and we will definitely remember this experience. ❤“

“I'll start with the bad news: there's only one vegan option on the breakfast menu. The good news: It's clearly labeled ("vegan love bowl"), it's really yummy, and the servers were knowledgeable about what was vegan and specifically brought me toast without butter, without me having to specify. They have oat and almond milk for the drip coffee, and a wall of hot sauces to spice up the dish. It was a lot of food - I had to get a to-go box. I enjoyed it and would go back! (Note: We did have to wait 20-30 minutes outside before being seated, but they have a nice patio with a heater and a bar. “Dandy's, categorically, makes the finest burger in all of Bend, and fits squarely within the top 5 burgers I've ever had -- and I fancy myself a burger connoisseur. The fries, tots, & onion rings are of equal quality, and the shakes are also divine.

Even though I had to move away what feels like ages ago (I miss Bend so much), I still think about the era of my life in which I was fortunate enough to live 5 minutes from here. The old school drive-in vibe, with carhops to match, is something that no one these days can replicate. This place is a time capsule, and I truly hope that it continues surviving and thriving.

It’s my understanding that there are 2 (new/newer owners) and the one that came to our table to visit was wonderful!!!
